If this last bit ^ is referring the front chassis brace, I was joking seeeing as you make them, not (some sweat shop working for) Whiteline, lol.

I hope mine is made before you run out of material or I'll be sad :(

Leon, you're all good; I'll be doing yours later this week.

Hi guys,

I'm rather sad to inform you all; but Whiteline's BNF44Z and BNR38Z will now no longer be available. :/

Over the last 12 months demand for these has steadily declined, to the point that Whiteline are not planning another production run unless they receive an order for 25-30 complete sets.

I cannot possibly afford to make an order that large; and current demand suggests that it would take me years to sell them if I did.

I'm not that surprised, as our vehicle is a very small market, and we are essentially the only place in the world that has a decent number outside Japan.

Most other Whiteline products have large markets; often in multiple countries, so it is understandable that it is not cost effective to keep large numbers of low demand parts in stock costing large amounts of store.

I'd prefer people didn't criticize Whiteline for dropping these parts from their line-up; if we had reasonable demand they would still be producing.

If you are ready to grizzle; ask yourself if you supported them & bought a set. :whistling:

Note that this doesn't affect the availability of any other parts; on the BNF44Z and BNR38Z. Whiteline continue to supply all other parts and replacement bushes.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Whiteline for supporting us with both excellent quality parts and back up, and for continuing to bring innovative, high quality handling & alignment parts to the market.

When I found out what was happening; I had my supplier grab any complete sets that were available. I managed to get what I believe are the last 2 pairs available. I have one pair left.

Cheers, Dale.

please dont say there all gone, air intake done cruise control done, now no bars

Cheers Guys, I'm happy doing it while there's happy people on the receiving end; and Whiteline make it pretty easy to keep people happy.

If there is demand, I can revisit a Group Buy situation with another supplier; we'll see.

  • 4 months later...

Guys, I need your help.

I have just had a chat with Whiteline regarding the possibility of reinstating the NM35 bars as a stock component.

I have been asked to present a business argument, but I can only do that if there is enough demand to justify.
They are keen to do it; and it doesn't appear that we will need to guarantee the 20 odd sets that was originally talked about.

I need to know from you if you would be willing to buy a set; not to wait and see, not to sit on the fence while others do the hard yards.

If I can prove that these are still in demand, we will have them.

If you sit on your hands, waiting for someone else to stump up; you will be left wobbling around with no one to blame but yourselves.

It is in YOUR hands.

Please post in here so I can gauge demand.

Cheers, Dale.

Well Im in Nz and I have been trying to get a pair in but was told no longer available. If these bars can be re-introduced, I will be interested even if I have to get it from across the ditch. Cheers

Hey Dale, you may need to wait a while for responses. The keen guys (who visit this forum every day or two) are most likely to already have their swaybars.

And this forum doesn't represent the entire pool of M35 owners. I'm constantly surprised how many I see around that have nothing to do with SAU.

Regardless of how many responses you get in the next few days/weeks, Whiteline could sell many, many more through their 'normal' channels - both here & OS (Russia/Sweden lol). They'd be mad not to make them a standard offering, IMO. But it's not my business....

sau stickers could help our cause

Hey Leon, I know mate.

The sad truth is, a lack of sales killed these bars; and the number of PM's I got once they were NLA was very frustrating, to say the least.

If half of these people had bought a set; they would still be a stock item.

Part of the case I plan present is the demand in other markets that have sprung up in the last couple of years; hopefully they will agree.

Whiteline appear keen to stock it again; going on yesterdays conversation, but I am not going to give them some "Pie in the Sky" number; and look like a goon when no-one buys them because old mate is "going to wait & see".

I'm really hopeful that people understand what is happening here, and that they do something to help.

It's absolutely no skin off my nose if it doesn't go ahead, I already have what I need.

Currently they have no stock; they are discontinued. There are a couple of rear bars floating around, but no fronts.

The feedback I've had both here & on the Stagea FB page is encouraging; I'm hopeful it will be enough.

As soon as I have an answer, you will too.

    • I replaced the whole clutch line with the chase bays braided hose, I think it removes that loop, is it the short hose that comes immediately off the slave or is there a drawing in the manual to find what you’re referring to? It was just re-bled when I upgraded to the nismo slave, old slave worked fine but I thought that might help, didn’t change a thing. It’s like the first half of the pedal is pushing air and then when it finally actuates the master the friction zone is tiny. Makes it practically impossible to launch the car
    • Yep, that was one of the things we learned fast in the past with our MX5. When you drive with the top down, you are effectively standing out in the sun, 100% of the time, and not getting in any shade (because roads aren't shaded generally!). Just like standing out in the middle of a field on a sunny 27C day is a bit of a bad plan, so is sitting in a MX5 without sun protection.
    • I also just ordered some Frankenstein bolts and side mounts to fit a hard top Just in case I do find one, basically so it doesn't need to be fixed to the car with only the front latch.......and then gaffa tape to keep it in place for the RTN journey from wherever I get it
    • If your temps are fine now, you probably won't have any issues with where your vents are as they don't look right up at the windscreens high pressure area, so any differences when giving it the beans for extended happy laps would be minimal, but, they should vent heaps when stuck in traffic  Much like how that reverse cowl on my SS let "visible" heat out when stationary, but, because it was basically at the windscreen my coolant temps on the Hwy actually raised because air was being fed into it at speed (110kph), to only come back down to around 90° when I got off the Hwy And your 100% correct about the NC currently not needing vents, but, if I was to add a turbo, and a oil cooler and intercooler in front of the condenserand radiator, and then take it to the track???? It is apparently a recommend requirement if I don't want to worry about coolant or oil temp issues, but, any of the above are possible scenarios, over time As it sits now, with the triple pass radiator and stock air conditioning system, I have absolutely no issues with either temps or air conditioning efficiency, I've been basically daily driving thie car for the last month, both on the Hwy, and peak hour, bumper to bumper traffic, but, that's pretty much expected from basically a standard engine  Talking about no issues daily driving, it was 39° the other day and I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the M5 and then M7, with the top down, and with the air conditioning blowing nice cold air on my feet, balls, and face, well, there was one issue, my head and arms got pretty sun burnt Note to self: leave a hat and sunscreen in the car for such days 🤣
    • I would agree, unless you need something specific to the HV motor/battery side repaired or investigated, any mechanic will be able to perform normal services, but if you prefer, maybe look for a mechanic who regularly services/repairs Nissans, the VQ engines are pretty common in the Nissan lineup.  Sorry, I can't make any suggestions, I don't live in Vic.
