Still no posts about going to see the guys at chapel hill, our weekly meets have become infrequent as of late is anyone participating in this or is it best to just call it off now? (I know boiracer is keen)

Everyone has to be on there best behaviour as we have had people cause issues at the chapel hill location and this makes us look bad, so lets have some fun but keep it toned down while arriving and leaving the chapel hill venue and don't park on the shops side park roadside or underneath. No drinking as it will probably attract police attention. Our core group were not responsible for the problems last time but taggalongs were so please ensure that all guests remember that they are guests and need to act accordingly. Apart from that I think we are doing BP southbound at 6:30pm thursday night.

Indeed, it was tag a longs.

Ok so im going to throw this out, instead of driving all the way to chapel hill, and the westies seem to ignore the possibility of coming all the way to us..

I suggest a monthly (middle) meet, half way between both cores, to make it alot easier on us all.

I enjoy driving, specially with a group, but it could also save us (definately me) some costs :P

Only an idea, but could be worth looking into it.

Naah jks, I actually live WAY closer to your meet than the westside one, but I have been going there since I lived at st lucia and don't have time to do both at the moment :(

We've talked about paying you guys a return visit a number of times, but the reality is we suck at organising things and turning up at the same place and time every week requires 0 organisation. Will try to lift our act...

I like this idea. We might have to do some planning and scheming tomorrow night.

It might even drag John (Isola) out of the woodwork...

Lol nothing will drag john out of the woodwork.

I would be keen for an aspley meet but wife works most thursday nites. Wed would be good but i will try and be more socailable besides just going to happy laps.

I am inclined to agree on that note, caboolture is definately a hole.

Even the small shopping centre crn webster and gympie. The aspley shopping centre has a subway sitting outside as i recall.

ideas are good, and brain storming for location tomorrow night sounds good.

6:30 BP's it is....gonna have to make sure i finish work earlier than the last few days tho....or i'll fall asleep on the drive there.

due to your proximity you could join us at the BP's for the road trip in if you like?

this is my proposed route. it avoids the main drag thru town...which is horribly bumpy with the road works atm,

i was going to start at the top of becketts road...but that too is full of road works atm, which im sure wont be busy. but last i drove it a week or so ago, it was very rough. so Hamilton it is, then thru the windy stuff that is the number 5 around the west to see the westies...lol

I probably won't, it would add ~half an hour to an already long trip, and I need to stop at Umart on the way (+KFC :P).

      Ha ha ha, this stuff they had was installing Toshiba PLCs that were made some time in the 1990s, and they were replacing GEM80 PLCs. To let those two talk (staged upgrade along a ~1.2km long building that was split into 4 sections), was a bunch of WinXP machines running Java gateways... There was no way to put something like ProfiSafe in... Most of the HMI machines were WinXP, with Java program, with a custom button board emulating a keyboard... About the only buttons in the operator stations that went direct to the PLCs was the eStop. There was some interesting design stuff in that place...

      Check for fuel flow out of the outlet end of the rail. Check for spark. Try to start with aerostart (or pressure can brake cleaner or similar solvent in a car) prayed in through TB. If you have fuel and you have spark and it will fire on substitute fuel, then seriously suspect that E85 sitting for ages in your fuel system has destroyed something and put it in your injectors.

      Luckily for safety applications, with dedicated links not being used for any other traffic, you simply run ProfiSafe (or an equivalent safety comms protocol from other vendors) over the top of ProfiNet (if that's what you're using, or Ethernet IP if you're stuck in the world of American PLCs and not verking vis ze Chermans) and the redundancy is more about being able to know that you need to cause a system diagnostic lockout because you've lost one of your comms channels, rather than not knowing that you've lost your only comms channel. Granted, heartbeats and all that are possible and useable and all that, but some safety applications are are so time critical that you might not be able to afford a few milliseconds until the next check.
