Carseldine sounds good to me for meet up's because depending on the shift I am on I'll finish work in Carseldine at 6-8ish but mostly because I actually know how to get there... I will be up on 11th March so the meets after then consider me there  also after then if you see a pink S2 33 with a white front bar and grey around the side indicators thats me... Slowly changing all my bodywork to the kit I want one piece at a time lol then will get it all made pretty pink again

Soooo. im sure i had replied. but apparently not.

Thursday sounds sweet to me at carseldine to kick things off again. short cruise and pizza capers is a win in my book.

SAU southside/northern NSW cruise is this weekend!! ima gonna be there, and the next happy laps for lakeside is also up on the state site. we should all go to one of these things together soon, rather than just 1 or 2 cars at a time. we dont need to take it in turns :rofl2: this will be a topic of convo on thursday.

marriage, poorness and the vague possiblility of selling the liner are over for the moment :merli:. and i need a serious dose of faster driving, this daily commute and highway driving is getting boring.

*so i just bought another gear knob for my car that doesnt fit..........anyone have an after market gear knob? i need to sort this shit out. 2 in a row, and neither fit...despite being advertised as "10mm" and "skyline" in the article. can it really be that hard? i stole a gear knob off a '98 URABUS liberty and it was a perfect and straight fit for my old '82 mazda 323

i got a drift brand gear nob on mine bodo, cost a little was about $60 i think, had adaptors for all the different sizes, and what is this cruise you speak of?, as for happy smacks i'm going to try and get in again, the last one was fun as, but i want to try and get some things done before then, if not just take it a little easier

ok, yeah thats not my style. i want one that screw on. no plastic bits or glue. or the funny little 3 grub screw things either.

I'll have to have a look at yours then Joe. the one i bought has a 10mm screw on adapter...but the thread pitch seems to be different to the skyline.

check out the events section on the state page for said cruise details

yeah saw the cruise info, wont be going as it is mels birthday that day and we have my son, so too long of a drive for him, as for my gear nob, it has these adapters as well, but all you do it find the correct one, screw that into the gear nob the screw it onto the gear lever, as there is no thread on the adapter, kinda like a self tapping gear nob, but once it's on, it wont be coming off in to much of a hurry

well i will meet you all there by about 7:30, got some family members coming as well, as tuesday was my birthday and this will be a combo meet with you guys and a little birthday gathering

it all depends on where you live mate, basically guys from cabulture down to probably burpengary will meet at the bp on the highway southbound the drive down to pizza capers carsaldine, where as i live in lanwton so i would be going from lawnton to pizza capers, and hopefully get there about 7:30, if you live around either areas, let us know and either meet up with the guys up north a little more, or you and i can meet up somewhere around lawnton strathpine area then go down, or you could just meet us at capers

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
