Go and read my post.

Then read it again.

Then continue reading

The car is BUILD PLATED as TURBO.

- You cannot put a RB30E into a R32 and be legal if my recollection of laws is correct (I'm usually pretty on the money), meaning RB20E and RB25DE are your choices etc. You cannot put an older motor, into a newer chassis.

- You need to RE-ENGINEER it, that is not free to begin with. They might also emissions test you, again not free.

It's not a simple case of "motor out, motor in - I've beaten the system".

It might pay you to investigate the laws before getting wild ideas.

i work in the industry and know an engineer, i can get most things done cheap.

like ive said its still just an idea its not a solid plan as of yet. im still trying to sell the car. this is only an idea for if the car doesnt sell and i decide to keep it

Was that the only civil war? You didn't specify

Next thing you will claim your horses actually made 1.5hp

I didn't specify, just saying that there were no tanks in the Civil War re enactments that I take part in.

As far as horses making 1.5 HP it is very possible. I mean we all know horses have power-bands, like any engine. You know how when you ride a horse and when you squeeze your boots into it and it goes from a trot to a canter to a sprint and you feel the increase in torque, they called that the "boots" but somewhere along the line it was misread as "boost", so the term boost that we all know so well actually comes from the good old days when we all used horses to get around.

Anyway, back to the HP discussion. Unlike today, when you had your horse dynoed (attached to a rope which went through a sheave 90 degrees to a load hanging vertical) they used an average power figure as opposed to a peak power figure we use today. So to say a horse has 1 HP is just an average figure, in fact many horses had anywhere up to 1.8HP peak power.

yeah im aware of that, its not my biggest worry

Well it should be because you might as well leave the RB20DET in there. You are illegal regardless.

At least when you get defected, realise it was a dumb idea to buy the turbo...

You'll actually be able to sell it. As opposed to with a RB30E, illegal motor, car is now not worth a cent.

if i put an n/a motor in the car the plan will be to keep it! so im not worried about the value. why be so f**king hostile for

I dont think he understands the english :(

use your f**king head. its a completely different kind of illegal, if i get caught driving turbo i instantly lose my licence. if i get caught driving a car with an illegal motor in it they defect the car, i keep my licence.. which one would u rather!!???

If you drag your engineer into it and he writes a blue plate for a car that is not legally allowed to be blue plated, he will lose his licence. And he will be aware of this....and not write the plate, therefore you won't be able to get it engineered and when you get pulled over, instead of being fined for driving a turbo car on your P's, you'll have the car removed from the road permanently and get a fine for driving an illegally modified car.

Something to consider if you are thinking of doing it still

Because you see unable to comprehend basic logic?

Let me try, once more - to help you out.

RB20DET - Illegal

RB30E - Illegal

Why f**k around, putting a RB30E into the R32 if its illegal?

It's time, effort, money - and you are no better off. You have a car that is worth less, is slower and is in no way anymore "legal"

Tell me you speaka da englese ?

I'd rather buy a VL and be done with it

The car is build plated as turbo

If you really do "work in the industry", you'd realise that regardless of what motor - all the officer has to do is look at the REGO STICKER.

It's a TURBO VEHICLE regardless of whether there is actually a turbo in the engine bay. The Police don't care.

You could take it to court, then try explain why you have a illegal motor in the car.

I bet that'll go down brilliantly, so make sure you let me know if it does. I'll fly up just to sit there and listen in.

both you guys are f**ked i swear to god if yous wanna be f**kwits gimme a call and lets have a chat you obviously arent listening to a thing im even trying to say.
