Nope - organised through Jesse Streeter to get me one through nissan japan.

crazy cheap - ie less than 50% the nissan AU quoted price

wiring is different from GTST to GTR for the blinkers - luckily enough i have some of the wiring left from the wreck i bought

and, the parker light plugs from the GTST match the GTR globe holder plugs, so cut them out - solder and some braided sheathing they are installed and functional

gotta wait til its dry to drive the car around to get the brake bias tested out, i think the rears are grabbing before the fronts so might need to install a wilwood bias adjuster

spent some time this afternoon on the car, hooked up the PLX wideband sender and guage as a temp item to test it out and check the idle AFR's

hooked up the datalogit and started it up

other than not sitting in the pfc's normal idle cell of 2x2 it was sitting at 11:1 AFR, so i tweaked it enough to run 14.6- 15.5 range - Then it was still hunting badly at 65 deg water temps, so i initialised the unit and ran through the 30 min idle learning - its is better now but will still hunt after you blip the throttle then settles down and stops it after 10-15 seconds.

so atleast i wont be killing the new 100cell cat from running stupid rich on idle.

waiting for a 52mm guage holder to arrive in the mail so i can mount the display and then go for a drive.

also been looking around for a way to mount a female USB port onto the dash area beside the glovebox, so i dont need to have the SM-AFR and the Datalogit boxes exposed in the glove box.. still havent found any product that will allow me to panel mount a female USB port so if anyone has ideas i'd be happy to hear it.

But I just hide anything in or behind the glove box and use a usb extension cable. Not as neat, but simple and reliable

i did search jaycar - and the one you linked Duncan was what i went looking for - should have taken the bloody number with me :P will call em and get em to search if they have them - those damn parts bins are always disorganised lol

i saw the first 2 you linked titan, neither would work - easpially since the female only has thread and the nut is on the male part.. wait ... what?? lol

also order in some mini USB chargers that sit flush with the cig lighters - i'll be hard wiring them and mounting them flush in the area the cig lighter used to be . never use the cig lighter and saves me from having adapters in sight, just plug the usb cables into the facia direct .. lets hope that works too haha

Yeah I'm putting 2 USB and 1 cig socket back in mine at the moment. I've used a surface mount twin socket and just put a 2x USB adapter in one of them. All mounted in a box at the centre console that was there to hold intercom electrics.

Use including Radcam camera, phone charge, tomtom charge and anything else that comes up.

so im a bit out of action atm, got a bunch of stitches on my shoulder blade so its making work a little tough atm.

so spent some time wiring today, couple of trips to jaycar were on the books since i can never get everything i need in one trip when i go there lol

so i started with this as per Duncan's link above and made a couple of spacers to set it more flush in the thin dash plastic.

Then i cut a 20mm hole in the dash, and used a file to take out another 0.5mm right around it so it was a tight fit

Installed the female USB plug into the lower dash panel and tightened it up

I then made my own male to male USB cable that wasnt too long like most are, with like 1.8m being the shortest i saw off the shelf - using some cheap $1.50 p/m 6 core computer cable and the $1.25 or so USB ends

i then needed a female plug for the end of the com to usb convertor that comes with the datalogit

all soldered up and heat shrunk - the cable needed to be soldered to the motherboard fitting on the end of the panel mounted female unit - i could have just cut the plug off but this was easier than dealing with the really thing wire these use.

now to fit the datalogit in this area i had to remove the top of the box to allow clearance to the "entry system" box thats mounted in that area of the dash

the PLX SM-AFR unit was double sided taped to the inside of the dash next to the entry system box and the cables run neatly across to the steering column where the guage will be mounted.

units installed, tested and ready to go, easy enough to undo the glovebox once i decide to hook up the wideband to the datalogit and most likely to the NB 02 sensor input on the new engine to replace the dual inputs of the rb26 loom.

pivot 52mm guage mount arrived in the mail today so can get the wideband guage mounted ready for some light load tuning.

USB power supplies didnt arrive so they'll need to wait til next week.

While coating things i've been multitasking on the next stage of finishing off the interior.

started with these things from ebay - 1A USB mini chargers

stripped them apart, and removed the +ve springs from the ends of the circuit boards - trusty wiring tools there that makes this stuff so much easier

Soldered +ve and -ve wires onto the circuit board for the new power feeds

Now to mount them - cut out the 20mm holes and used my dimple dies to make a nice surround for the charger heads

Glued in place with JB weld

You've given me some ideas with these USB mounts Chris.

Going to set them up for my Data logger and ECU so don't have ugly cables everywhere.

thats exactly why i did it :D

more work to start with, but HEAPS less when you need to use them

could use the same principal for the hand controller on a PFC, PaulR33's website shows that its almost a regular ps2 port for the HC

I have sent just jap an email too. Will see what they say lmao. Only thing is the Dmax ones are on a big back order. Low key anything will be better then my OEM ones I got as they are sounding like popcorn when I go under load lmao 😂☠️🪦.
    • They should do. I have S14 (or something S chassis, anyway) driveshafts in my R32 (because my diff flanges have 3x2). They're the right length. When you go looking for R32/3/4 driveshafts (for turbos), they're all the same thing, so are the same length. So there really shouldn't be any reason why those cheapies from JJ won't also fit an R34. R32/3 NA should also be the same thing. The (3x the price) D-Max ones are uni-fit. They have 5x1 and 3x2 bolt holes and say they cover all the cars. So that would also suggest that they are all the same except for the flanges. And in that case, the flange goes both ways. I'd be buying the D-Max ones if I ever have to replace a shaft. Because that will open up diff options without needing to juggle shafts also. Juggling shafts is gay.
    • Yeah with the adaptors they do look like the photo above - just the fitment within the plenum itself and then further with the rail to the intake is questionable - we shall see tomorrow hopefully once I get some replies from Aeroflow, maybe those bosses are the missing piece....
    • Should be fine, if you have it sitting too far in, you end up just spraying the walls and have shit idle. You "can" run them like that, however I don't think it's a great idea (also depends on your plenum, might be good to just get the injector bosses first, mock it up and see if you need to get the bottom extension) Ideally your injectors, with the extension should look like this  (Not my photos, just Google)
    • Thanks for the replies guys, it's really appreciated.  It seems the kit was supposed to come with those injector bosses but hasn't. Unsure if they'll help as even with the adaptors to make them a 3/4 height injector they still sit too far out so mount the fuel rail?
