for those that are still interested in this cars progress, here are some picks with it now wearing the 18's big brakes and JIC coilovers, next on the list is a 3500rpm stall convertor, and investigations into some forced induction options

they are 9's all round,

UPDATE:

For all those that have followed the progress of this car the next phase has started, I have selected a Vortech V-1 T-Trim Blower, microtech ecu, in conjunction with a custom front mount and wastegate. Soon it will be time for some serious power, just waiting for the GTR to sell to get some more cash teogether.

ive done a little more research on some american sights, mine made consistently around 240-250, with headers, exactly what those in the states make, so for a comparison the figures should be accurate.

Stock injectors are good for around 520hp at the crank, tests done with a supercharger and totally stock everything including ecu gave around 280rwhp at 3-4psi, with headers a little over 300, at 5-6 psi with a ecu, fmic and headers 350-400rwhp....

Thats a stupidly impressive result, i think im gonna have to save a little faster ;)

gearbox is out and the oncvertor is off getting modified to handle more horsepower and have a higher stall point, fuel pump and reg has been ordered. Just waiting for a little extra cash for blower ecu and fmic.

Well Phase 3 (The Final) of Blacky's build up has begun.

Were going all the way, a full cage is being added, stripped interior to loose some weight, a pair of nice buckets. Although its being stripped, light weight panels will be made so the car still looks very trick and not just some dogily gutted race car. The Wierd Looking Manifold is being sent away to be polished along with the blower housing. All Stainless Polished Intake Piping, a custom made intercooler.

Most things i have already aquired and still going to for the build up:

Vortech V1 T Trim Blower

Bosch 044 Pump

Surge Tank

Cage

Fuel Reg

Large FMIC

Microtech ECU

BOV

Bucket Seats

Harnesses

Fire Extinguisher

Various Autometer Guages

Other Random Bits.

This time, attention to detail is what im after. To completely Finish off the car, fully street legal in race trim, ie cage, new interior, removing all the sound deadening. It will only be a weekender, Manual options are being investigated.. but ill be happy with the auto and stally till it blows up. Where aiming to make some serious power out of it.

So it will be going off the road in the next few weeks and we are going to try get is ready for Brisbane Auto Salon... Lots and lots of hours, late nights, beer, blood, sweat and tears.... But Visualising the final product it is going to be more then worth it.

Next Week it should make a trip to the strip on slicks just too see what it can do so we have a base to go off.... Ill keep you all updated with plenty of pics of the build process and the headaches along the way.

Thanks for the replys, Just got off the phone to cappa, Blower will be in my possesion by the end of the week, ordered the rest of the steel today to build the bits missing from my roll cage and the alloy interior panels after it looses things like the back seats, most of the trim, door panels etc...

Well we made some progress on the weekend, completely gutted the rear half of the car, got rid of some computer??? dont know what it was or did but the car still works.... so all is good, rewired the boot, just have to get a battery box today and the boot is finished. Made lots of reinforcing in the boot to match what will soon be the rest of the roll cage, will try get a finished pic of the boot today. Finished the rest of the boot of yesterday by painting it nice glossy body colour. Supercharger should be here this morning sometime so ill get a pic of that as well. Parcel shelf is now aluminium, and all the is left for the rear half is to relocate some more wiring, make aluminium side panels finish removing body deadener and carpet the parcel shelf and where the seats used to sit.

^^^one hardcore rear strutbrace, the rear end of the car now feels so unbelievably stiff, its excellent^^^^

Heres some pics, blower just arrived, its huge!! also got myself a set of dragway indies, to mount my slicks on.... old school styles...

The mouse is you normal full size computer mouse 130mm long...

haha i found it again, im an idiot, cheers huge!!

Thermo fans arrived yesterday, ordered bov, innertubes for the slicks, radiator overflow tank, intercooler core, longer wheel studs all should be here by the end of the week.

Supercharger arrived on monday, sent the crank/cam (yes it does both at once) angle sensor to sydney today for a computer to be built around it... its all coming along quite nicely. Looks like we finally found some good mount points for the supercharger, though its going to take some very clever engineering to fit it all up and make the brackets.... there isnt a hell of alot of space. Oil feed and dump issues have been solved by some quiet thinking over a few beers last night...

Its all FINALLY HAPPENING!!! im so stoked to be working on it majorly again, i love it!!

    • You'd want to cap off the re-entry back into the dump too. Just something flat that can be held on by the Vband.
    • Thanks for the recap Matt Z. It was a great day out and I know you have said it already, but we couldn’t have done it without the volunteers.
    • Couldn't agree anymore, massive thanks to all that came by, helped out, or those who just wanted to talk cars. You are the community that make this such a great car club. cant wait for what we have planned for the future
    • Looking at the photos, you could easily just drop this pipe and dump into atmosphere  Just 1 or 2 quick hits for data acquisition - if have a heat shield material and/or sheet metal, maybe just use wire/metal cable ties and attach it in a way to deflect heat from melting nearby wires.
