Nice Leon :)

That is where my Greddy ProfecB spec 2 boost controller is going. ;)

That's a great spot for it Andy. I had a quick search but couldn't find the dimensions. I hope it fits as there's less room when the cover is down than it looks. I had to remove part of the lid (not visible when closed) to allow for the gauge mainly because it's angled towards the driver's seat. If it was flat it may not have needed too much cut out. I filled the hollow bit with expanda foam then plastibond.

Does the GReddy EBC do anything different to the Jaycar IEBC for <$100?

Shows boost, so I can get rid of my other boost gauge, and they are meant to be one of the best at bringing on boost earlier. Will let you know the verdict next week. :)

Also records various boost function ie; max boost

Ahh, that is cool. Keen to hear what you think after you've tested it.

thats where my emanage is lol

I thought your Emanage was where the DVD player was, or does it take up the whole space?

The greddy unit will actively monitor the boost level and make adjustments to the solenoids duty cycle to try and maintain a set boost pressure.

The jaycar unit does not, it is simply a 2D map of load vs duty cycle. So for a certain load point the solenoid will operate at the set duty cycle. Load point is taken from an injector output from the ecu, so as injector duty cycle rises so does the jaycar units load.

I found the jaycar unit to be quite good at it's job while I was still running the stock turbo, not so good once i changed to a larger one.

That's good to know, thanks Josh. I have one assembled & ready to go in my car (still stock turbo). If it gets hi-flowed or changed down the track I may need to swap out the Jaycar controller. No big deal as it's very cheap. I chose it because it got rave reviews & it fits my DIY mandate  .

    • Hi soviet_merlin, We appreciate your concern regarding this possibly being some sort of PR/Political hype, I assure you that is not the case, I wish we could claim something like that, but in this case, we merely reached out for comment on the basis of the outrage we too felt, as those heavily in the automotive industry. Ps. the original source in the social media post is CarExpert not CarExplore.    Best, CE.
    • Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.
    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
