hi guys i purchased a nismo 320 kph speedo for my 32 gtr and went to install it and it will fit but the warning lights are in different spots so i wasnt sure if it would work so i went to remove the speedo itself and install in my cluster, It is quite different and wont fit as it has an electrical ribbon connection that my one doesnt have, I have been trying to search on the subject but cant find the answer, if I just plug the new one in will it work or will there be issues?

Either find that guide as BWRGTR has said, or you can move the cables in the connectors on the harness. I worked it out a couple of years ago and wrote it down, but won't be home for over a week and a bit.

You can work out which pins need to be moved where just by working off the rear of each unit.. Just remember the speed signal out is polarity conscious.

Why can't he just remove the speedos from the two clusters and swap them? As r32 speedos are cable driven and not electric like the 33 onwards

the design between the two clusters (early vs old) is different, so once the speedo is out of one, its not a direct fit into the other unless the speedo sensors is swapped.. also possible to re-pin the connectors at the back which i have done in the past but the swap saves messing around with all the pinouts

the problem was you got a late model 32 cluster for an early model 32. they are different between years. and you can't just swap the speedo's between them as in is the 320kph and one is the 180kph so it won't work obviously.
