Once again things didn't quite go the way I would have liked, but that's drag racing for you :D

2 major problems...

1) The timing system was a bit on the piss, which REALLY annoyed me :D

I can actually claim to have run a 0.892 60ft and gone on to record a 10.141, as that's what the time slip says! It's my car number on the slip too.

2) Traction, or lack of. I couldn't launch hard at all. Even when I tried to slip the clutch of the line it would STILL light it up after the 60ft mark. I did a 2.07 60ft on one pass and then at the 70-80ft mark the rear just let go :D

Now for the runs that did get recorded correctly:

60ft - 2.476

ET - 12.87

MPH - 117.75

60ft - 2.353

ET - 12.84

MPH - 115.65 (short shifted from 4th to 5th - and lost mph)

I did a total of 5 passes, 1 that wasn't recorded correctly (which I felt was my best of the night! typical) 2 that I've posted above, and 2 that where full of wheelspin and missed gears.

On the 117.75mph pass I had 90.85mph at the 660ft mark. On the stuffed time slip pass I had 91.93mph at the 660 mark. Unfortunately the terminal speed info wasn't on my time slip!!! The mph readings were recording correctly, it was just the time readings that was stuffing up.

Oh well maybe next time?

Drag racing never goes to plan really! But its all good. Your times are still very nice! Maybe consider some rear camber arms (or bushes) to give you no camber at all on the rear.

Nice TS of 117 btw. You should be able to crack the 120 mark, and 12.4 if you get a nice 60ft. Good luck!

Thanks dude. Yeah I need to work on my shift points and then the mph will come up a touch. A 2.0X 60ft and a clean pass should see mid 12's @ 120mph.

I've already got a Whiteline rear camber kit, running -0.4 camber. I think I just need sticker tyres - Nittos. I even had wheel spin issues in 2nd on the RE540's.

Yeah thanks Andy... ya smart arse :D 0.1sec btw us... so far. You'll probably improve now you've got the new clutch. Me... well by the time I've got 380rwkw I should be into the low 12's :D

yeah Matt, you should be killing me already mate - I was only messing around :P

And it will be a while before I do decent times with my new twin plater - damn it is a completely different car to drive - Diggity can attest to that, after he had some fun driving it home from the dyno day /*cough* stalled it 3 times taking off from Boost Worx *cough* lol

However, when I do get my driving style sorted (which is well on the way now - I only stalled it once today :) ) it seems to get the power to the ground much more effectively - and the new slightly lightened flywheel makes it keener to rev, which is nice. Time will tell once I get my Z32 afm, n/a S14 throttle body and EBC fitted and tuned .... hopefully I can do some low 12's myself :) .... especially now John has eclipsed our times in the crappy falcoon uterus (rofl j/k mate :) ) it gives me even more motivation to get the fideen sorted.

I knew you were just messin' with me Andy, t'was all in jest ;) Yeah I noticed Diggity had a *few* prob's getting away from BW :)

With your new round of mod's coming up, and once your got the twin plate fully sussed, I say mid/low 12's is on the cards. With 60's like you've been getting it's only a matter of time.

If drag racing was all about MPH I'd be doing ok :)

Yeah Steve I was thinking of putting the 10 in my sig' under 'Best ET'. I'd make a few people do a double take lol

Watch it though Whatsisname, normally the faster time you run, the lower your terminal speed with full bodied cars like yours and mine. More time taken to get to the line will generally give you more acceleration 'on' time which can SOMETIMES result in a higher speed.

Look at my Soarer, when I was running it with 280rwkw @ 1680kg of weight, it ran 13.01 @ 122mph, and a couple of 13.3s @ 124mph

What you've posted makes perfect sense Martin. Hmmm... I didn't think you ran 122-124 with 280rwkw though? I thought you didn't go that fast until the Soarer was into the 300's? Either way, very resepctable numbers for such a heavy car! Makes mine look bloody slow in comparison... gee thanks :):D

Yeah I dropped the pressure down to ~20psi Clint, didn't seem to help much though. I know I need to actually hold the burnout. So far I've just been dropping the clutch in 2nd and spinning up to the line.

Thanks John. I'm planning to head out to next 4, 6 & Rotary meet (17th) If nothing else but to see if car has gained anything with the new BOV, that appears to now hold boost - unlike the one I did have.

ABSOLUTELY Dean! There is no comparison once the tyres are properly warmed up.

When you first leave home in the morning go for a thrash around corners and see how well your tyres grip. Then on the way home on the same corners, when your tyres are warm, do the same and check out the difference the warmer tyres make! You have to remember, we sit out the back waiting to drag for an hour plus sometimes, and in that time the tyres lose all their heat and stickyness.

100% agree Andy. Shaun was running 1.9's after doing small burnouts, as soon as he did a big burnout (for the camera) that dropped to 1.7

I'll be opting for a bigger burnout from now on.
