I'm thinking of having a go at some fibreglass bar repairs myself with one of those repair kits you can get.

It's a bar that I am thinking of replacing anyway, so the fix (even if bodge) would be better than the crack.

Anyone had a go before?

Make sure you mix the resin and catalyst as per the instructions. Make sure you don't get too excited and use excessive catalyst.

^^ as above mix per instructions. if you need to reinforce, i layed some aluminium strips down and fibreglassed over on problem areas on a low hanging front bar i repaired once and it stopped cracking after that

Done it a few times. Have a read on the net to see how to apply / work the resin (once its mixed) to the sheets also. Follow the instructions and its pretty easy. Also, when you go to wash up after using it or sanding, use cold water as hot / warm water opens the pores of your skin and the fibre dust gets in and it itches like hell >_<

+1!

Ive done a few bars as well as made some parcel shelves and such, its fairly straight forward.

I suggest you wear a long sleeve shirt and pants when sanding cos the dust/fibres itch for days if you dont!
