My last bov was a hks ssq bov. Now i'm trying a tial 50mm, and i notice that it opens when ever i let the throttle go (close) it has a 1.1 Bar spring and the car is running 45 psi with gt42r turbo.

Why is this, and is it good?

Thanks mate

cheers

Come on man, you didn't event put effort into this.

3/10

ok mate sorry. its just that i'm working right now, and i thought that it was a good question.

What else do you need to know to help me answer the question mate?

I thought that it was a good question. I searched first, but i just cant seem to find the right answer.

everyone is more like "whats the best sounding bov, bov for what boost", and so on.

But no one can tell me why it opens, i'm thinking that dirt can get in the engine. It wouldn't work good for MAF set up's

And will it work good on and of gas. Like for the tracks??????

Well i hope that these points start something and not just a simple answer link try harder lol.

thanks cheers

Wow a BOV that actually works properly. BOV's are meant to bypass air off boost. The only time they should close is around 5" of vacuum and above. This type of opperation is what stops AFM's from reversion and false reading - as long as they are plumbed back in. It is also the best way to help a tubo spool as there is no reversion waves that slow it down. It will be quicker onto boost and between gear shifts.

He's gotta be a troll man. 50mm Tial BOV? Sounds more like a wastegate. GT42r @ 45psi? Bit of a serious car to be asking such a stupid question.

He might have purchased the car modded or just given cash to a workshop to mod it for him...

To the OP; That is what it is meant to do, vent excessive pressure in the cooler piping when the throttle body is closed
