R33 Auto (Cant Lock Car In First Gear?)

Hey guys, I recently bought an R33 GTS skyline. It would appear that you cant lock the gearbox in first (1) gear, as the gearbox display reads from top (P R N D 3 2). I was just wondering is it possible to lock the gearbox in first gear so it wont shift into second? if not is this a factory thing that all the non turbo auto skylines have??? Thanks, Nikk

if you cant lock the car in first, would there be some kind of "hold" button somewhere that you could hold down to stop the car from shifting up???

i read the title and thought you meant you couldn't lock your doors when the car was in 1st. I thought to myself "why would someone want to leave an auto in 1st and not Park"?
