Cold Air Feed?

Hi guys, i'v got an r33gts-t and currently have the standard air box with no snorkle as the fmic pipe doesnt allow it to go on. I was looking into getting a pod filter and maybe have a cold air feed??? Whats the best thing to do and is there a certain filter i should go with?

arc airbox with a air duct in the bonnet ftw... go one step firther and use a heat insulation foam tunnel from bonnet scoop to arc airbox...

I just have a pod filter inside of a custom aluminium box that I made with insulation padding on the inside of it.

On a forced induction car it aint a HUGE deal having no cold air intake if you have a decent front mount. Obviously it aint going to hurt though.

thanks guys.on a bit of a budget at the moment so might just try hks pod filter which i can get off ebay for 30 bucks and see how that goes

How much of a flow restriction does a aluminum box around a pod impose.

None. Plenty of air around the headlight and from the factory hole underneath the filter.

Do my intake setup IF you don't have a return flow cooler. Stock airbox (hacked up air feed to fit over cooler pipe. Put a hole in the bottom/side of the airbox. Put a duct from the airbox down through unused stock intercooler hole into front bar. Attach pod to the end of it. I have my guard liner in there too so cops can't see I have it so it's "legal" lol. Best way by far to do it. An you have 2 intakes

I can try take pics mate. But it's in the car in a way that you can't tell it's there. I'll take a pic from the inside of the airbox and post it up tonight/tomorrow

my advice, don't spend $80 on the hks filter, spend about the same money and get an apexi filter instead.

Basically what he is getting to is get a normal paper element type filter, not a foam filter.

Just did this mod to my stock air box today. Pretty happy with it.Cheers

save all the hassles with a 2 inlet mod restrictions and cut the snorkle around your intercooler pipe. at least you wont get any heat soke with a pod...

I just marked out the snorkle ovel the pipe and used a jigsaw then glued on some "Bunnings house flashing" (like soft alluminum)..

pic below. very easy and near stock....

mind you i did have to reglue it at the rear as I was impatient and installed it while wet...fixed now though
