I've had it for a little over four.

I don't see it going anywhere, anytime soon though.

Your phone on the first pic says 5 march 2011 and that was before you picked her up right?

Glad to hear you keeping her either way

Bringing it together

I like my cars as solid as possible. I had almost every brace known to man on the MX-5 and it made a huge difference. Being a convertible, it did have a lot of chassis flex in standard form. On the other hand, the Stagea is almost as solid as a concrete block, but there is always room for imporvement right?

There is a downfall though. Finding braces to improve it are hard to come by. So when this discontinued Cusco rear strut brace popped up on Up garage, I knew what I had to do.

Here’s hoping I can find a few more braces to whack onto the Stagea over time.

So I've been doing some light reading this morning, and I've noticed that people have said taht a S14 turbo rear subframe will fit the Stagea?

Just the subframe? no need to change shocks, or arms etc?

Also, another thing that has been bugging me (can't find much info on) are the diff's, is there a diff centre that we can drop into the Stageas housing? I guess it's either that, or getting my diff shimmed.

yeah he did, I'm curious if the RWD and AWD stagea subframes are the same though?

But Grant (Yokotas13) did say it bolted straight up, many moons ago. He isn't very eloborate though (never has been).

should be, only the manual and auto are different. might have issues with diff ratios tho, gotta find out what the front diff is so you can match it up,

you'd probably need shorter/manual half shafts too. rear arms are the same, sway bar is the same.

might be easier to get the rear end out of 33 gtst??

And your coilovers propably won't fit, being auto, you'd have eye type, you'd need to get some fork type ones if you change the entire rear end.

Well to my understanding, the Cradle itself is a direct fit, without changing anything else (i.e remaining Stagea parts will bolt up). If that's the case, I'll be more than happy to do it and get some wider wheels on in the future.

If not, meh.

sent a PM to Mike earlier today, keen to hear what he has to say.

Darrinspencer has done one from memory.

he did 260rs cradle.

i did s14, everything lines up, i used the same diff i was running but obviously needed to use the shorter half shafts. lower control, camber, toe and traction arms are all the same and interchangeable.

while the cradle is out, replace the subframe bushes with whiteline units or equivalent

    • All 3 I guess. The car came with the JASI Aero 4 door Type R Full Kit unpainted so this was one thing at the top of my list to complete then I noticed there were body panels parts for this kit so i picked them up along with some black mesh to fill in the front bumper and front side air vents. car is at a paint and body shop atm completing this work. Next I will be addressing the internal bells and whistles, great summer project I can do with the kids.  full interior removal - ,boys car sound deadening - pads and spray ,boys stereo, sound, lighting - Big 3, GTT or bigger alternator ,kids head lining - dye black add star lighting mod ,daughter. That's it for the next 5-6 months. I have some motor maintenance  work i have to plan out. oil filter relocation, gaskets, mounts. beyond that, mind is starting to turn over if i can use a DET intake plenum, block off turbo ports & pipe in a air intake.

    • I think he was only proposing to use the wire, not the sender. Simply because it runs from the right place to the right place. Personally, I wouldn't hack up the factory wiring like that. I'd just lay in the Defi loom.
