Difference Between 32,33 Rb26?

Just wondering if there is anyway to tell the difference between an r32 and r33 RB26, is there a code on the block which can be FAST?

there is some info on this with a search....

the r33 has larger heater hose outlet on the block

the r33 has one clip on the fuel rail for the wiring, the r32 has two

wrxhoon was keeping a register of engine numbers for a while. but you can't cross check to a vin in fast.

in addition to the heater hose size above

32 gtr has 2 plug mounts at the rear of the fuel rail

33 gtr has a plug mount at the front and a plug mount at the rear

34 gtr has a different cas.

not a lot of practical differences though

The oil pump drive on the R33 gtr crank was improved over the R32 gtr crank.

Late model R32s had the larger oil pump drive on the crank as well

true but you can't see that from the outside. but the clutch did change from push to pull about the same time.

btw engine sub loom is different on r33 motor as well

trying to work out if my engine is in fact from an r33 or r32 owner informed me it is from an r33 hmm

Water outlet towards the back under the plenum is larger on R33

Fuel rail has 2 mounting tabs toward the rear on R32 ....R33 has one to the front

On the R32 harmonic balancer the two large seperators are the same thickness....the R33 one is a little thinner (front)

If it has the turbos the O2 sensors are smaller on the R32

All of these thing can be interchanged so its not diffinite either way...

Maybe post up the first 3 digits of the engine number maybe someone might be able to help you from that
