I've got a Jim Berry clutch (not full monty) in my 32, and it has been behaving a bit weird.

The bite has moved very high up the pedal and is now very narrow.

As well as this it has started slipping a bit, but usually when cold.

Once warmed up, it doesn't miss a beat, but the bite is still high up and veryy narrow.

Because it wasn't like this when first installed, is it gone?

Could it be something else causing the change, eg need to bleed lines, master or slave gone?

any ideas?

Could be a couple of things. First place to check is the hydraulics...have a look under your car while someone pumps the clutch pedal, check to see if the release arm has full travel. If not, then it is an hydraulic problem, such as air in the system (needs a bleed), a leaking slave/master cylinder, or an issue with the pedal assembly itself in the driver footwell.

If the arm has full travel, then sorry to say, the gearbox will be coming out...and it will most likely be a worn clutch - the slipping is indicative of a worn contact plate - interesting that it gets better as it warms up though - could be a worn pressure plate, though this usually causes clutch drag.

Another possibility is the pivot ball inside the bellhousing...this might be worn or snapped off...but that usually results in clutch dragging symptoms rather than a high take up point.
