They suit the engine bay and intercooler nicely -

There are some additions that JEM has added to the list like Billet fuel filter, exhaust cam gear and turbosmart fuel reg etc but its main purpose for being there is -

Haltech PS2000 wire in and tune

Ethanol content sensor

wideband setup

cams and springs install

FULL flex tune for E85 & 98 pump fuels

This is getting exciting and nerve wracking all at once :woot:

Looking good mate :D

What's the reason for the change from Sard reg to Turbosmart reg??

Thanks Man!!

E85 compatibility, and its black :P

You wont have an issue and apparently there are plenty out there running E85 through these but they do not have the approval for the fuel so i THINK they are changing it ;)

God. Damn. It.

Water/meth injection is looking like it's gonna be the go for me, E85 is way too hard! Lol.

PS - funny thing, our cars make identical power with totally different setups :woot:

LOL :rofl2:

Must be all in the Plazmaman :glare: Lol.

Well it's about bloody time Matt :)

The rims came up really well man, I like them. Are they just a flat black or is it just the photo that gives them a gun metal hue???

Good luck with the tune mate, it's been a long ride for you hey!

Is e85 at the bowsers up at the terrace or are you gonna store drums? It's still not local enough for me down here so WMI for me I thinks..

Dibs on a ride when we finally meet up in person ok.

Haha thought that would make you happy :P

They are a satin black, they actually suit the car, although i cant run the original centre caps as the silver looks a bit silly so im not sure what to do there, BUT at least it replaced the hideous things i had on there before, ill keep the rims as daily street rims and get something lighter for the track, the XT7's weigh heaps!!

E85 is about 20 mins away on the Bowsers hence the reason for going full flex fuel setup, BUT i do have 200L ready at home too -

Sounds like the passenger seat is going to cop a work out lol.....

Thought we would have had a power figure by now :(

Like all builds/modifications, there has been issues... Seems my valve springs were a different height or something between inlet and exhaust... I haven't heard the full story yet but it sounds dodgy... It's in the best possible place so I'm

Not too concerned about the bad news...

Power figure will be OK, but will be heavily restricted due to the exhaust I think.... Will post up how it goes....

The exhaust I run is a full 3" system, have been told 3.5 would be better etc... But for the power I'll be running I don't think that counts.....

The restriction/limitation will be due to the Jasma rating, it'll be restrictive and hinder the power output....

My goal is stealth, quiet car... Stock looking, no obvious gauges... Just a stock daily to the untrained eye..

Just to expand on that, I believe the problem with the Japanese exhausts is that to obtain the Jasma approval, a lot of them are not true 3" exhaust. A lot of them step down to 2.5" just before/after the mufflers to help reduce noise, and these step downs can be quite restrictive.

    • My idle is set at 950rpm though - Moving the timing around 20 degrees is not really what I'd call a calm idle. That said... neither is chop, by definition. The LS ECU likes to adjust timing to hold idle as opposed to air. It'd work, but generally speaking there'd be a discrepancy in the base idle and the IACV would want to move the timing around anyway to maintain said idle. I think I'm just going to keep the timing steady anyway. Preserve my engine mounts.  My aircon is now officially regassed. As the guy was reversing I noticed my reverse lights do not operate, along with my reverse cam. This is a bit distressing, because 100% of guides talk about which wire to connect to backup cams as "the goes with the [other color] wire". Often when doing conversions. Unfortunately the R34 colour wires aren't documented Unfortunately I had a T56 Magnum gearbox with it's reverse switch, which also isn't documented. Unfortunately there's definitely not documentation for people with both of these in the one car. Unfortunately I forgot. After many hours of this, I have a reverse cam and reverse lights again. The wire going through the trans tunnel to the reverse switch had broken. Upon inspection, it looks like this one wire had about 7 spade terminals and extensions in it.. for reasons I cannot possibly comprehend. I also spent the 750 hours required to clean up the wiring behind my head unit which now looks like this: This is a monumental improvement relative to what used to be there WRT triple gauges, head unit, traction control, wideband controller, and whatever the f**k OEM stuff still exists there in various states of connectivity/needed. Next step is to check in at the Exhaust shop to see/confirm how much clearance I have, to decide what mid mufflers or 'resonators' (which are just straight through, narrower mufflers) I can add and hopefully cut out a lot of exhaust leaks, pinhole, v-band or otherwise. But first step will be to 'take a look' before the next step.
    • Fark the AFM card and Nistune, Haltech Nexus S3, DBW, cruise control, flex fuel, dis dat.
    • It's most likely the bolt/bush where the cover bolts back wore and allowed cover to move forward.
    • Still haven't put the injectors and R35 AFM in so we can tune the bloody thing for the HG highflow it got mid last year! I think I can forecast the upgrade path to a bigger twin scroll, external gate, Haltech, flex setup, Samsonas, dis dat, etc will be .... a while away!
    • Should have taken that opportunity to slot in a twin scroll turbo setup. Maybe next time.
