I haven't been there since they changed hands but I did hear that now it's RAC it's a bit more strict.

Yeah I work there from time to time.. I don't tend to do the skidpan days, I am usually taking the V8 rides, but the deal is that the RAC have an image to uphold in the public eye of course. I've been to a couple of the monthly meetings and they are all pretty good about it - but of unfortunately they get the odd member of the public ringing up asking why the RAC is promoting 'hoonlike behaviour' and so on.. so if said member of the public drives past and see's heaps of tyre smoke that what causes the issues..

Bottom line is, they don't mind you sliding around, and after all that's what the idea is, to control the car and experiment a little - but its when someone goes out time after time and loops it, then stay on the gas pretty much doing a burn-out that we have to step in and ask you to back down a notch..

That said - if anyone's going to a ride in the V8's send me a msg and let me know in case I'm on that weekend!

And... my machine is back on the road! Just fired up this weekend - still on run-in, but looking forward to getting back out there! A couple of new seats to get comfy in too.

How comfy are the sparcos?

awwww y'know.... I maybe wouldn't pick them for driving to say... Bunbury.

But they're the shizzle for going round corners 'comfortably'. ;)

    • I'll just leave this here. https://www.adelaidespeakers.com/subwoofers.html TL loading, big power. They sound awesome. This is what I would buy if I was going to try to take the bass away from my floorstanders. Just go with the 12".
    • I'll snap up some photos when I'm back home, in the office today meeting my "in the office" quota. Have 2x Teams calls scheduled in, office culture they reckon.   I've never owned a proper off the shelf sub, I've always made or modified broken ones with Jaycar plate amps and/or car subwoofer drivers. The current (and broken) subwoofer has a proper home driver in it, Dayton driver, thos one https://www.daytonaudio.com/product/118/rss265hf-4-10-reference-hf-subwoofer-4-ohm FS of 25Hz, which is low but not low enough. Yeah, I think they were brought out to the market to compete with SVS. I would love a SVS PB-3000 but they're not cheap, especially after their price hike. From reviews online, it does look like the Tonewinner D6000 would destroy and with good amount of money saved too.
    • yeah, that happens too.  I'm really enjoying 4WDing at the moment, seen a few beautiful spots and want to go explore more of this enormous country.  The 370Z got a clutch LSD in it and a track day, great fun.  Getting the back end sorted out really rejuvenated my enthusiasm for driving it hard, the viscous one is poo especially in such a short and wide chassis.  The VLSD unpredictability was more benign in a long and skinny Skyline.
    • With my pre/power I use a remote trigger cable(3.5mm jack each end). I turn tv on, it turns both on via ARC. Or, just the pre with the remote or its streaming software, turns on both. Not that difficult at all. Obviously,  you would also want to actually update/upgrade over other factors in your life(bills, family, other hobbies, etc)
