in November 2010 i swapped my toyota surf for a Vr clubsport commodore thinking that owning a V8 for the first time would be pretty sweet! WRONG..... i hated it, so big and boring so i got rid of that for this R33 nismo edition skyline which i fell in love with as soon as i saw it, at first i said to my self 'im going to leave it just the way it is because it looks amazing' that lasted 2 days before the turbo was off the car and the modifications begin, p.s this all started because the car had a blown exhaust gasket when i bought it.

Unfortunately i do not have any pictures of the car the day i got it on this computer (laptop died) so i only have recent ones basically.

so the first mods i decided to go with are:

*T04E turbo on high mount manifold with stainless custom exhaust

* 740 cc injectors

* Z32 AFM

* splitfire coilpacks

* apexi power FC with hand controller

* exeedy heavy duty clutch

so i bought all the parts within the next 2 or 3 days and began tearing it to pieces!

then i decided to pretty up the engine bay so i went out and bought some metalcast paint and got to it with the rocker covers.

i personally thought the colour looked good and suited the engine bay well seen as though most other parts are blue.

the next afternoon i wrapped the headers, dump pipe and intake pipes with some JJR exhaust heat wrapping which was frustrating but rewarding in the end!

once i finished all the heat wrapping i put the turbo back on and finally got the camera out again :)

a few nights after this my fuel injectors arrived so i put them in the rail and chucked the rail back in the car, booked in a dyno day down at the PITS with matty spry who i have only heard good things about, gave the car a quick service and got everything ready for the dyno which was in 2 days!!

everything seemed to be going smoothly so far which is a first for me! also forgot to add that i installed the power fc with hand controller as well, here is a pic of the car yesterday before it got towed off to the dyno!

As you can see in the below pic, i painted the plenum as well to give the engine bay a nice and neat look.

Had a small problem with fueling at the pits which was caused by a cheap monza fuel pressure reg so that was replaced with the standard reg, in the future i may look at upgrading to a bigger fuel rail with braided lines etc.

all this work was done in my garage in 2 weeks!!!! with the help of my uncle and my girlfriend :)

forgot to add that i installed a new head unit and some hectic alpine type R speakers in the car which is when i stumbled across some jap money and fuel receipts from early year of 2000 :)

thats about it for now, just a quick intro to my R33 build as it is the first skyline i have owned, i am hoping for over 400 HP at the wheels on 18psi...i have been told i will easily get that but i dont want to get my hopes up.

in the future i will probable fabricate a custom plenum and air box along with catch can and surge tank, but first we will see how she goes at the dyno and i will keep you posted!!
