Starter Motor

Ive a rs4 series 1 and the starter motor is starting to die,I can get my hands on a gtst starter motor but its from a manual will this matter?? or does it need to be an auto one?

I'm pretty sure any RB starter will be compatible. There are different brands and different tooth counts on the pinion, but I'm fairly sure all will fit.

All RB starters are usable.

That includes starter motors from six-cylinder VL Commodores, so if you get a price you don't like, ask for the price of one off a VL.

Unfortunately, it's not too uncommon to see the same parts being sold at different prices depending on what car the application is for.

If you're getting the GTST one for free or near then chuck it in. Otherwise get yours overhauled by an auto electrician and you should be right for another ten years or so.
