What is the "Flying Kangaroo" in Prince Skyline?

In Rezz's logo for the Prince 2000GT why do they use the above symbol?

As Australian's we almost overlook these things but is it not strange for a Japanese company?

And do they have stickers?

Apparently, that winged Kangaroo logo was used on the S50 Skyline brochure from 1965.

Heres the only pic I could find, it's bloody small, but you can see the logo:

There is also a courier company here in Japan that uses a "Flying Kangaroo" logo, I believe the company is called "Kan-gaaaar-ru" or something (in katakana)...

here is a better one for you...I've never really taking much note but it would be interesting to know the reason behind it.
