I've got a page bookmarked at home that shows every single change between the years on the 34s. Personally I think the series 2 is damn ugly, but some ppl seem to like it. There's no gap for a FMIC on the stock s2 it, which kind of sucks. The interior is also a bit 2-tone as well (e.g. steering wheel is white and black). So to me, the series 2 is a backwards step (although the 363Nm torque is quite nice :D)

Anyway, I'll post up the site later tonight when I get home from work.

Just adding on to what Skyline_Boy posted...

The interior of the Series 2 has alot more silver painted parts... the center consle and on the steering wheel for example. Demon Dave will be able to tell us exactly what the differences are (if he has time :D).

OK, I found that site. There's sort of a series 1.5, but there's also sort of a series 2.5, so it looks like Nissan kind of change parts whenever they felt like it.

On this site, go to

- R34 4 door laboratories

then

- R34 4 door vehicle items of information

From there you can see all the differences over the years. It's about sedans as that's what I'm after. You might be able to find a similar site about coupes, but they're not really what I'm interested in, so I never looked for them.

I should also say that I don't think the series 2 is a totally backward step, it's just that they changed some fairly major things in my eyes for the worse. I may end up getting a series 2 one day, but I'd have to change a fair bit for me to like it.

One thing I did notice though is that Nissan got quite cheap towards the end and started deleting certain parts to save the odd yen here and there e.g. no seatbelt guides in the S2, no real middle rear seatbelt, saving the 2c on paint for the engine cover and cigarette lighter writing, no lock on the glove box etc.

    • First time visitor and currently getting ready to start work on my HK Premier.  Its all stock, 186 with 3 on the tree.  The only mod i have right now is extractors.  I am hoping to get some guidance on slightly modifying the engine to bring a little more power. Just going for a nice, comfortable cruiser.  The car is very straight, however i have been out of the country for 20 years and its been gathering dust at a family farm.  Will be doing quite a bit of body work to cut out some small rust areas (frnt quarter panels and a few other small bits) and fix up the paint.  Will be redoing the interior (its currently black and the seats are in real need of recovering and respringing the driver side (its front bench seat).  The dash needs a little TLC, but no real damage.  As my heater has degraded I am considering fitting something after-market that will be both heater/AC (recommendations here are always welcome). Wanting something discrete that will allow me to use the same controls and not be obvious once inside the car.   For the engine, i have been told i could consider upgrading my cam (imagine i would need a new head as well) and putting a new carby (currently the original stromberg).  However not sure what is going to be the best route.  Would certainly welcome any comments/suggestions.  As  a final step I am looking at changing the wheels. Current hubcaps are in dire need of refurbishment or replacement (imagine its a bit like hens teeth).  Thinking of some clean/classic looking mags (7-inch should be more than enough - not going for a large change in look).  Welcome any comments/advice and of course any questions.
    • I got the ARC M079 due to the space constraint.  Been running mint for the last 3 years.  Plazmaman also seems like a really solid choice but not used myself.    Hunt around for a better price but this is what I have - https://www.rhdjapan.com/arc-brazing-intercooler-smic-m079-bnr32.html
    • Wanted to follow up on this. Did you end up getting the M073? Still deciding on what to get between nismo m073-79 and plazaman.
    • I was just watching these boys up in QLD AWD'ing their S13 too.
    • Por que no los dos? At least my euro brawler is reliable - unlike the JDMs I've had. Sheraaz you look familiar, did you ever come to an SAU VIC meet aaaaaages ago?
