Hey All,

Can anyone recommend a place in Melbourne that knows what they're on about when it comes to Skyline Clutches and LightWeight Flywheels?????

Thanks.

u will have to go to xtreme clutch in adelaide for a good clutch and then order a 4.8kg chrome molly flywheel from taka.

Good luck!

I have recently gone down this neverending path, I hope for your sake the knowledge of Clutches for 33's is much better than 34's.

In short I ended up getting an Exedy Extreme Clutch [Pull type] fitted and supplied by BMT.

Get in touch with Daikin Australia and they can advise what parts are available off the shelf and also where you can go to get it done - they wont sell anything direct though. Daikin also have Clutch "Kits" for some models [not mine] which includes a lightened flywheel, though wont be as light as the Jap ones INASNT is referring to.

Yours should be a Push type which will make it A. Easier to find, B. Cheaper and C. Wider range to chose from.

Cheers.

***edit: were you in the city today by any chance? near RMIT, down a dodgy laneway?

yeah thanks for the advice, I've already been in touch with daikin and they were very helpful.

I'm now thinking I might not go for the lightweight fly as I'm not sure it's worth the money, but I'll still get the clutch.

Meshmesh, would love to hear about your deals when you know more, how will you be informing people???

**I was down a side street near RMIT the other day, did u see me or my car (or both)?? What car were u in???

Yeah, it's tough choosing the right clutch...

I was suggested by one place to get a Exedy single plate for my GTR which can handle up to 300kws. Another place told me the Exedy single plate comes in both heavy duty and organic sports which is heavier, however neither of which can handle much more than 240kws.

Can anyone tell me the difference b/n the two clutches?

I'm running an exedy single plate heavy duty in my GTR which is running around 270rwkws - seems fine to me, but i have only had the car for 3 weeks, no idea how much it has been put through or how much is left on it.

On another note i was about to start a thread about lightweight flywheels and other lightweight parts - are they worth it? what kind of parts can be lightweight like the flywheel? what price mark will i be looking at?

I have just installed a twin plate exedy clutch with a lightweight flywheel. Only drove it in and out off my mechanics driveway, but the differance in reponsiveness is very noticable. In neutral the revs up ALOT quicker, and according to my mechanic the car responds alot faster.

did u get the 4.8 kg chromemolly one or the cheaper one?

There is a Cusco clutch which is 4.2 kgs.

I'm very interested in a Lightweight flywheel at the moment, and I'm speaking with Kristian from Japanese Performance Imports about them.

I could ask whether we could get good prices for a group buy.

He certainly got me a VERY good price for my R-34 PFC

BASS OUT

I was walking past on my way to the train station, I think you may have been in the car, didnt want to stare for *too long* :(

I noticed a black 33 with 34 wheels and I didnt think there were too many of these around - your car looked the business :)

yeah that was me!

For the GTR guys...Most definately stay away from the fibre clutchs....They smell and they fry as soon as you get stuck into the car.Go for a twin plate.I put a Nismo Gmax II twin plate set up and it was absolutely fantastic....drivability was great and it really bit between shifts....also it was heaps lighter that the original flywheel....i now have fitted an OS giken quad plate ...i still have the gmaxII if anyone is interested
