I didn't know it but the base switched from 95 octane to 86. I filled up without even looking, and o my way to work I started hearing BAD detonation almost like rod knock. I was on my way to work and it was midnight so I drove it to work. When I got off this morning I went and put in a bottle of octane booster and after a few miles it went away car runs fine but what damage could I have done? And is there anyway I can make the car safe to run on 86 without a tune?

Right know they are saying atleast a month I'm prolly just park it and drive my other car. I can get 98 off base but it is supper expensive.

That's what I'd do, though I'm not sure how ideal those octane boosters are, is there any issue with leaving them for a month? Might be worth syphoning the fuel and replacing it with 98
