R32 Gtr Boot Release

So it seems like the boot release doesn't work properly, I'm not sure whether it is the connections, or the latch thing itself.

Anyway, it opens fine with the key, and the seller said something about needing to replace a bit, but he wasn't sure so I ignored that part.

When I pull it, it feels really weak, almost like the other end isn't attached, and it also seems to be coming off the floor/sidewall. Anyway, should I just get general mechanic to look at it, or.. ?

have a look in the boot lock, there is a small switch to turn off the in cabin release.....

Cool will do. I had a look and there is a bunch of stuff you can move around, I'm guessing the switch is really some sort of latch?

And, is it in the lid or the frame part of the latch?
