I have R33 GTR brakes on my GTS-T, but we never changed the master cylinder to a BM57.

Now it seems I have a little leak in my seals so I'll get the GTR master cylinder fitted.

We've also noticed the GTR booster is bigger then GTS-T.

Is it worth changing this too ?

Looking at the clutch master cylinder, it's very close already and may have to be moved.

Anyone know if the GTR booster will go in GTS-T without dramas.

cheers

Why get a GTR master unless you were unhappy with the travel/feel of the GTST one?

I thought travel/feel is more booster related anyway ?

And master cylinder more related to stopping quicker.

I may be wrong, don't know.

Can anyone please tell me what to expect with the larger diameter booster, or is it a waste of time and money.

cheers

BM 50 will shorten up the pedal a bit if you can't find a BM57. Larger diameter shortens the pedal but increases the effort required so if you fit a bigger booster as well it may be a help.

Yeah I've bought a brand new BM57.

You reckon pedal effort will increase without bigger booster ?

Well it should in theory but maybe not enough to be a problem. I have been using the stock BM50 M/C with GTT brakes but have just got some 330mm 8 pot D2s (AP copies) for the front so I am looking for a BM57 m/c. If it deosn't come with a booster will see how my present one works. Let us know how you find it!

Kudos Motorsport in the Gold Coast have new ones in stock. $467 + $30 del. Master alone.

There's a wrecker in Greenacre, has an old one for $200 in fair condition.

I reckon parts will become very hard to get soon after what Japans been through.

You can order recon kits for the BM57 but right now it's a 12 week wait. The kits are $260.

Then you have to pay for a specialist on top to hone and fit.

Luckily I just picked up a genuine Nissan repair kit for $25 a couple of days ago! Second hand m/c go for $80 to $100 and usually come with the booster but the booster from my Stagea which was originally an auto may do the job. Everything's cheaper in the promised land although we don't earn as much as you Aussies!

  • 1 month later...

I have a r33 gtst with gtr brakes all round and I was not happy with the factory feel so I fitted a Nissan patrol master cyl, these are larger than the gtr one and do not have a bias valve in them. This way I could fit a in line bias valve and dial in what ever I wanted. I have been using it for three years or so now and I am very happy with it.

howd this end up all working. i have GTR brakes all round on my BM44 abs equipped r33 gtst s2 and not overly happy with the pedal feel after install

thanks

Pedal feel is nearly always a sign that you need still more bleeding (supposing that you have renewed the fluid preferably with something like Motul RBF600).

Josh, when i had the brembos on my 34 i also had a spongy peddle, i used a bm57 to. Only thing i didnt change was the air separator the comes off the booster and plumbs back into the engine. Try finding one of them as all GTR's have them.

Luke, what does this thing do? You said it's a separator, so it separates vacuum? air? from what?

And I don't think it would feel any less spongy with this thing on.

Boz22n, what diameter BMC did you end up using? What bias adjuster? Ever had any troubles with adjustment range being insufficient, i.e. too much/not enough front/rear bias?
