Regards to all.

Can anyone direct me to where I might source R34 GTR diff gears 3.545 Im currently running 3.680 in an R32 diff and want to change them over. I'm in melb so the closer the better, but I will take what I can get.

My understanding is this was the only model 1999-2000 that came out with these gears.

Can advised me, thanking you in advance.

Gearman.

I spent ages trying to source these. I got the front but gave up when I couldn't get a rear to match. People with R34GTRs sometimes change to R33 diffs but the only examples I came across were V-spec with active lsd so not suitable. If you are 2wd only there is also the Z31 VG30ET 3.545 or the A31 Cefiro RB25DE 3.538

Well my friend you could be in luck I have a set of standard GTR R34 diff gears front/rear in perfect condition, was not a V spec rear diff... I changed my ratios so they are sitting in the shed... I have no idea what they are worth but if you are interested text me on 0412 950192.

Cheers Dave

Well I have now installed R33 GTR diffs front and rear in my Stagea but I could still be interested in changing the ratios in the future. Still have the front diff but could be interested in the rear one if GearMan doesn't buy it. As to value they are not very sought after ...most people are going the other way like you - Mr GearMan is the only other person I have seen looking for one. Are you selling just the crownwheel and pinion or a whole mechanical LSD? In fact I am keen to know if the crownwheels and pinions are interchangeable between R33 and R34 GTR diffs.

    • I’d love to find some where that can recover the dashes to look brand new and original. Mine has a very slight bubble, nothing compared to come I’ve seen though
    • $170K. I asked one of the guys there as a joke if that price was just for the passenger seat as it was where the price sheet was... he tried really hard to crack a smile 😄 He also mentioned that every single part of the car was inspected and either restored or replaced with a new or as new part, or made from scratch. The interior was incredible, every inch like a new car.
    • Time for a modernisation, throw out the AFM, stock O2s, ECU into the e-waste bin. Rip out the cable throttle, IACV, pedal, etc. into the scrap metal bin. DBW, e-throttle, modern ECU, CANbus wideband, and the thing will drive better than when it left the factory.
    • I agree, don't go trusting those trims. As I said, first step is to put the logger away, and do the basics in diagnosis.   I spend plenty of time with data loggers. I also spend plenty of time teaching "technicians" why they need to stop using their data loggers, and learn real diagnostics.   The amount of data logs I play with would probably blow most people away. I don't just use it to diagnose. I log raw CAN data too, as a nice chunk of my job is reverse engineering what automotive manufacturers are doing.
    • I'm aware, but unless you're actually seeing the voltage the ECU is seeing and you're able to verify the sensors are actually working I find it hard to just trust STFT/LTFT. I will say, logging the ECU comes naturally to me because it's one of the lowest effort methods of diagnosis and I do similar things in my day job all the time. Staring at 20+ charts looking for something that isn't quite right isn't for everyone. NDS1 allows you to log almost everything so that's normally what I do and then sort out the data later.
