It shields heat...

Not hugely important but if your running a inboxed POD filter you would be getting alotore hot air sucked in from the engine bay

haha thanks!

But seriously is there a problem with the wire not being connected? Should i bolt it to somewhere else? Is it actually an earth?

I;m more worried about the wire not being connected causing problems.

Thanks for the help so far.

I know mines not connected as I have an aftermarket du pipe and the heatshield wouldnt fit

It hasn't caused any problems

But I would be interested to know what it's grounding

haha, when i read the title of the thread i wondered if it was the same 'wire' that confused me, and it was!

i was missing a heat shield, it had disappeared (i think) when the turbo back exhaust was installed along with the dump pipe shield. not that it matters cuz it wouldn't have fitted the new pipe anyway,

i attached it to a bracket which held the original heat shield. i imagine its an earthing wire.

Yea i' dont wanna remove it, Id much rather connect it then take it off afterall it wouldnt be there if it wasnt important. Its just that it seems like the end that isnt attached should be attached to something immportant (i know the heatshield) but the end that is cconnected just seems to be earther on the chassis?
