I've just bought a M35 pearl white with an aero kit and I love it! Mine has twin sunroofs, aero kit, tv and single din stereo. If I had my time again Im not sure Id change anything.

Speak to Brad about the language conversion. I think its pretty cheap and will be doing mine soon. Commsman does the HDTV tuners cheap, only issue is the DVD player. Im trying to get DVD/aux out/ipod control/bluetooth in one unit, and so far Ive found a JVC AVX77 that does all that, and a couple of Philips units that apparently the bluetooth is average on. Ive been surprised how good the standard speakers are and have no plans to change them any time soon.

Im pricing up 18s at the moment just because i want some sidewall. Bought a N14 SSS once and it had low profile tyres and I hated it with a passion. Dont want to ruin what is so far proving to be a great car.

Plenty of info and help on here if you search. People are happy to answer questions and help out, and its really interesting if you search, and find some threads from when the M35 first got here and everyone had to work it out themselves. Some great stuff.

Edit: Youre welcome to come have a look at mine if itll help. Im at Prospect.

Nice, sounds like you bought exactly what we are after. We are looking for either silver, black or white with the same specs as yours, except we arent too keen on sunroofs.

What width and offset are you looking at going? I might take you up on the offer to look at it as Im just over in Hillcrest.

Cheers

I wanted a light colour. I saw a great black M35 when I was looking around, think it had everything I wanted + leather and Bose, but I really didn't want black. In hindsight I'm glad I didn't get the Bose option, just wanted the spare wheel well mounted Sub :P

SA Motorsport Tyres are a customer of mine, and were going to set me up with some custom Braid wheels. Kind of liked the idea of the white multispokes on the white M35, something a bit different. Just checked my email and I just asked for comparative prices on 18s and 19s. I'll go 19s if I can get enough sidewall to maintain comfort.

PM me if you want to have a look.

Im at Prospect.

i was there yesterday for a wedding shoot. did you see me?

In hindsight I'm glad I didn't get the Bose option, just wanted the spare wheel well mounted Sub :P

i have one i MIGHT not be using if youre interested?

Heres mine as it sits now....

-18inch rims (think its from a v35 or a g35)

--30mm spacers all round (tyres were scraping like f**k. so i rolled my guards. its perfect now no scrapage at all!!!)

-Blacked out some of the grill

-Vinyl blacked the roof.. (honestly i think this makes my car, i dont know anyone else thats did this to their car, and honestly i think its a must on these stags esp if its a lighter coloured car. it just finishes so well. and gives it a bit of a modified look)

-Blacked out the headlights (this was naturally 2nd inline after the roof. it is f**king hard to do, (i didnt use an oven... i dunno freaks me out putting expensive headlights in to an oven.... it just took about 5 hours and alot of patience... so many times i was so close to just grabbing the headlights and smashing them on the ground out of just pure rage lol... but it payed off thankfully nothing broke/cracked and its all sealed up nicely)

-Series 2 side mirrors (with the indicator on the outside)

The only thing this dosent have is a sunroof... i imported this car myself (with my uncle) and i was the one scouring uss auctions to find the perfect stag for me. i waited 3 months.. looking for one with sunroofs, and initially i wanted black... after awhile got sick of waiting and my uncle told me about this one... to be honest i wasnt happy when i got pics sent to me. but every time i look at my car i love it!

it was a 4.5 grade auction and has 88 thousand kms right now! Ive got the declaration papers from the japanese government with all the details so i know its legit kms!

i did pay a bit more for this car compared to what you can get, but peace of mind is important!

Its got the bose factory system in it, ive got the touch screen translated to english...

oh and the factory BOSE sub.. (thats in the spare wheel) is f**king epic for the size of it!!!! succhhhh a crisp clear sound!!!!

kenstyle coilovers (ive can still go alot lower, but with 18inch rims its tooooo low scrapes on everything)

Apexi exhaust (took the big ass muffler thing out and put a straight pipe there. still has the cats. and its not too loud. just gotta make up a dump pipe for it!)

Plenum spacer

now all i gotta do is just install my window weather shields. and thats it

i agree with you on MINIMUM 19inch rim needs to be on these cars...

i havent gone to crazy with the styling, just subtle things. im very happy with it...

the only other thing i want to do is put a front mount, and finish my custom exhaust ( want to go 2 sets of twins, so left and right)

if i get the time ill do it, but if i sell if before hand when ah well... oh and ive taken the front nissan badge off, just so when ppl go infront of me and try and find out what make the car is. they have no idea!!! lol

no problems dude, i dont have sunroofs so its just solid black all the way. i took of the black strips and let the vinyl overhang in to those bits and put the strips back on so it looks pro!

lemmie know what you exactly want pics of and ill sort it out. but via pm. lets not hijack the thread lol

I LIKE IT !!

what you use to crack the headlights open with ?

no problems dude, i dont have sunroofs so its just solid black all the way. i took of the black strips and let the vinyl overhang in to those bits and put the strips back on so it looks pro!

so the black strips come off easily enough?

i rekon my car has had a respray, all except the roof! which is in shit condition. hmmm black bonnet and black roof............

ye there is a company in japan that does carbon bonnets for the nm35 http://model.auto-style.jp/m35stagia/bar/

http://www.automotivelightstore.com/customlightingstore-hidkit.aspx do mean halo demon eye kits thay said 395 per headlight for full hid lights demon eyes and custom black inside light colour

dont need a carbon bonnet, the aluminium one is pretty light to begin with.

id only go carbon if it had enough space to get a plenum spacer and a strut brace under there

lol... PM conversion?

Can definitely fit both in there :)

SIDIUS - thanks dude!!!... the headlights were cracked open with. 4 screw drivers (all flatheads from 1 thin one to a really fat one, 1 thin stanley knife and a f**k load of patience.. and almost tears hahaha.

The carbon is okay. but zei201 is right. ally one is light enough. just carbon wrap it!

contact charles86 on this forum, he is the guy i get my carbon wrap from and its good 3m stuff! i was going to carbon wrap my roof, but its not a race car so.. thought it would be weird!

zei201 - the black strips are easy as to take off. just unclip the bits where a roof rack would go... and then just jimmy the rest up... they arnt flimsy you can be rough with it!!!

I got the vinyl from a friend thats a graphic designer. also co-owns JAP WAREHOUSE in tullamarine.

call up and ask for KENZ. tell him you saw my car and ask if he can quote you on the vinyl... (me and him put it on together but im not sure if he is willing to do it again for anyone else)

its the very best stuff. its what they use on thier drift car and the same shit thats on most of the v8 super cars... its tough as f**k, hasnt faded yet AND the best part it can even withstand being cut and polished!!!

i was looking at the car today, theres a few more things i will attempt to make look good haha. but it could all go very very wrong!

Hey there... Thats a sweet looking ride you have... Im looking at buying an M35, question. Have you had any problems with it??? So far from what Im hearing is they are pretty faultless... As I do high km's anywhere from 600 to 1200km's a week Whats the average fuel economy like??? Thanks

turbo will die, no doubt about it. its just a matter of when.

economy isnt the best, if youre doing highway driving then it should be pretty good!

ARX will probably use a little more fuel due to the 100-150kg of extra weight.

    • Well, after the full circus this week (new gearbag, 14 psi actuator on, injectors and AFM upgraded, and.....turbo repair) the diagnosis on the wastegate is in. It was broken. It was broken in a really strange way. The weld that holds the lever arm onto the wastegate flapper shaft broke. Broke completely, but broke in such a way that it could go back together in the "correct" position, or it could rearrange itself somewhere else along the fracture plane and sit with the flapper not parallel to the lever. So, who knows how and when exactly what happened? No-one will ever know. Was it broken like this the first time it spat the circlip and wedged itself deep into the dump? Or was it only broken when I tried to pry it back into place? (I didn't try that hard, but who knows?). Or did it break first? Or did it break between the first and second event of wierdness? Meh. It doesn't matter now. It is welded back together. And it is now held closed by a 14 psi actuator, so...the car has been tuned with the supporting mods (and the order of operations there is that the supporting mods and dyno needed to be able to be done first before adding boost, because it was pinging on <<14 psi with the new turbo with only a 6 psi actuator). And then tuned up a bit, and with the boost controller turned off throughout that process. So it was only running WG pressure and so only hit about 15-16 psi. The turbo is still ever so slightly lazier than might be preferred - like it is still a bit on the big side for the engine. I haven't tested it on the road properly in any way - just driven it around in traffic for a half hour or so. But it is like chalk and cheese compared to what it was. Between dyno numbers and driving feedback: It makes 100 kW at 3k rpm, which is OK, could be better. That's stock 2JZ territory, or RB20 with G series 550. It actually starts building boost from 2k, which is certainly better than it did recently (with all the WG flapper bullshit). Although it's hard to remember what it was like prior to all that - it certainly seems much, much better. And that makes sense, given the WG was probably starting to blow open at anything above about 3 psi anyway (with the 6 psi actuator). It doesn't really get to "full boost" (say 16 psi) until >>4k rpm. I am hopeful that this is a feature of the lack of boost controller keeping boost pressure off the actuator, because it was turned off for the dyno and off for the drives afterward. There's more to be found here, I'm sure. It made 230 rwkW at not a lot more than 6k and held it to over 7k, so there seems to be plenty of potential to get it up to 250-260rwkW with 18 psi or so, which would be a decent effort, considering the stock sized turbo inlet pipework and AFM, and the return flow cooler. According to Tao, those things should definitely put a bit of a limit on it by that sort of number. I must stress that I have not opened the throttle 100% on the road yet - well, at least not 100% and allowed it to wind all the way up. It'll have to wait until some reasonable opportunity. I'm quite looking forward to that - it feels massively better than it has in a loooong time. It's back to its old self, plus about 20% extra powers over the best it ever did before. I'm going to get the boost controller set up to maximise spool and settle at no more than ~17 psi (for now) and then go back on the dyno to see what we can squeeze out of it. There is other interesting news too. I put together a replacement tube to fit the R35 AFM in the stock location. This is the first time the tuner has worked with one, because anyone else he has tuned for has gone from Z32 territory to aftermarket ECU. No-one has ever wanted to stay Nistuned and do what I've done. Anyway, his feedback is that the R35 AFM is super super super responsive. Tiny little changes in throttle position or load turn up immediately as a cell change on the maps. Way, way more responsive than any of the old skool AFMs. Makes it quite diffifult to tune as you have to stay right on top of that so you don't wander off the cell you wanted to tune. But it certainly seems to help with real world throttle response. That's hard to separate from all the other things that changed, but the "pedal feel" is certainly crisp.
    • I'm a bit confused by this post, so I'll address the bit I understand lol.  Use an air compressor and blow away the guide coat sanding residue. All the better if you have a moisture trap for your compressor. You'd want to do this a few times as you sand the area, you wouldn't for example sand the entire area till you think its perfect and then 'confirm' that is it by blowing away the guide coat residue.  Sand the area, blow away the guide coat residue, inspect the panel, back to sanding... rinse and repeat.
    • The detail level is about right for the money they charge for the full kit... AU$21.00 each issue, 110 issues for a total of $2,300 (I mentioned $2.2K in the first post when the exchange rate was better). $20/week is doable... 馃槓
