Guys,

My car is 200 kms away from where I am. I bought R33 brembo caliper and new rotor and new pads and new fluid. However, I still have my BNR32 Stainless steel hooked on my car.

I need to know right now if my actual brake line will works/ bolt-on to the R33 brembo caliper because once I will be at my place installing my brakes, coming back on a towing because my BNR32 brake line didn't fit and I couldn't brake, is not an option.

Quick answer, thanks a lot!!!

When it comes to aftermarket braided lines, R32 and R33 GTR are different part numbers so as far as quick answers go, most likely not. reference: http://www.rhdjapan.com/nismo-brake-hose-set-silvia-skyline-march-55921

nice deduction! I never thought about that.. I know, for a fact, the front hose does fit.. but i never found a def. answer for the rear hose.

I have a set of BNR32 hose and a set that came with my brembo caliper but they were fitted on a 240sx chassis. I don't know if it matters.

Do your braided brake lines retain the hard lines that come out of the caliper or do they get rid of them and go directly into the caliper?

Most brands keep the factory hard line and just replace the rubber line. The kits are usually the same for a R32 and R33 GTR.

I can tell you for a fact they dont fit, tried to do it yesterday,

they retain the factory hard line into the front calipers

the threads are the same but the internals of the fittings are different diameters

What are you talking about? How can you say "for a fact" when you have no idea what brand the braided brake line kit is?

For example the Hel braided brake line kits fit both a R32 and R33 GTR as they retain the factory hard lines coming out of the caliper.

Who did you buy it from? Obviously not from my group buys?

The Hel kits suit R32 and R33 GTR. I have sold probably 30 of those kits alone through the group buys and no one has had any problems.

They are the same.

I'd be contacting the supplier to whom you purchased the kit from.

Dont wanna sound rude mate but i suppose i should be talkin to you then

I tried fitting the line to the rear left hand side of the vehicle and one end wouldnt screw in

I then checked the paper work and the only vehicle that it states it fits is an R33 GTR ( the paper work i have looks differenet to yours)

Well this is the first i'm hearing of it.

I don't see why your car would be different to any one elses.

Did you try the rear right hand side? It isn't something that is simply damaged on the hard line on the rear left hand side? You originaly said the fronts. So did you try fitting the fronts?

I can tell you they are the same kits. Hell even the GTST kits fit the GTR's. The main difference between the GTST and the GTR kits is that the GTR retains the factory hard line since there is no need to replace it. The GTST kit obviously goes straight into the caliper. However if you wanted to get rid of the hard line you can just git a GTST kit. That's how nearly identical they all are.

Your sticker is probably different because by my records it says you orderd a R33 GTR kit, therefore they would have just put that sticker on there for which I ordered your kit for. When I order a "GTR" kit, they usually put the sticker as pictured above so people don't think it only fits the one model.

Like i stated i only tried fitting it yesterday so no i havent let u know in yet, i wasnt really goin to bother with it cause i knew i could sell them easily even at a small loss.

As far as i could see non of the lines were damaged, i tried fitting the lines to the rear left side, once i realised it wasnt goin to work i didnt worry about tryin the rest of the brakes as i wasnt goin to do half a job.

How exactly did i order a 33 kit by your records? I bought them from you because in your add you stated that they fit both R32 and R33

Heres the add http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/346904-hel-strainless-steel-braided-brake-line-kit/page__p__5590504__hl__hel+brake+lines__fromsearch__1#entry5590504

When i recived the package it didnt have a sticker like yours stating it fitted both 32 and 33, The package i received only has one A4 peice of paper stating that it fits an R33. there is no mention of a 32... I can get a photo of the paper work if u like.

The fact is they didnt fit for what ever reason, i sold the kit this morning

Ah ok you bought that kit - All I have is excel spreadsheets with every ones name, postal details and kits that they orderd, so that's all I can go off of when I quickly need to look details up.

So the person that had ordered that kit and pulled out had bought it for a R33 GTR, hence my records saying it was orderd for a R33 GTR.

Regardless you are the first person that I am aware of that hasn't had a kit fit. I have no idea why it didn't fit your car and would be curious to know what is different about your setup to not make them fit.

However the fact is the Hel R32 and R33 GTR kits are identical in every single way (given there is no two seperate kits) as they fit both models, regardless what stickers or paper work they have.

I would have offered you a refund but since you all ready sold the kit there is no need.

All I can say is sorry for the inconvenience.

I'd say the mounts/brakets for the brake lines/hardlines are they key. If the OP is retaining the BNR32 brakets he needs braided lines suitable for them not for a 33 GTR just because the brakes came from a 33 GTR.

He should have a look at his car and envisage how the 33 brembos calipers are gonna hook up to his car and where the brakets/mounts are. Don't just chuck out his OEM brakets/mounts.

I would guess he needs braided lines for a BNR32 specifically, if the rear ones are long enough to replace and hardlines etc like with 33 GTST kits.

I made a mistake when I got lines for putting brembos on my R33 GTST; I ordered R33 GTR goodridge ones and the front lines were female-female and no good.

So I just got HEL GTST lines and put the brembos on retaining the GTST front mounts/brakets. The rear lines replaced the hardline and mounts though.

I'd be careful about that. The HEL front line for the GTST is a long male-female line with a plastic fitting in the middle which slides up and down. The plastic fitting is designed to fit in that hole on the GTST braket/mount, so the lines is secure and not free to vibrate etc. Yes this line would fit on a GTR but I don't think it will mount as designed line for the GTST and you would have to conjure up your own mount otherwise the line would be loose which is bad.

Yeah I didn't mention actual mounting as that differs a little bit from GTR to GTST, but nothing a ziptie or those loop clip (no idea what they are called) can't fix in the worst case scenario.

Well I wouldn't use a ziptie etc or some half-assed clip (no offense).

When I had the GTR front braided lines I was thinking of cobbling together a DIY mount etc but decided against it; you have the suspension travel and steering motion - all pulling etc on the lines, you don't want them to get kinked etc or suffer too much stress - last thing you want is a line breaking when you are on the road - the OEM mountings are well designed

I ment these clips as Hel use in the GTR kits. Because of the factory hard lines coming out of the caliper on the GTR the rest of the line doesn't really need to be secured much. So you could also use a ziptie that is loose.

Ok so I guess i'm fine.

I still have my SS hose mounted on my BNR32 ( but I sold the oem sumito caliper to replace for brembo r33) so I know they work, I just can't confirm if the male screw in the female brembo caliper.

Or

The guy that I bought the caliper had it mounted on a 240sx and I know it screw in the caliper perfect, I just hope the end fit if my first kit doesn't haha!

or else, I will have to call a towing :(

The Brembos are 10 x 1mm thread same as sumito...Asian standard or whatever it is. :)

The bolts that hold the Brembos to the car are a coarser thread than the Sumitos though.
