Under hard cornering the lateral G's will pin the oil against the side of the sump out of reach of the oil pickup (depending how much oil is left in the sump), and you will might experience oil surge (pickup sucking air). Baffle is really cheap insurance if the sump is already out, but not easy to do (engine out or drop the subframe job).

Ive added this to the rb26 sump, along with CRD (mines-copy) head baffle unit, tomei oil restrictor, and head to sump oil return feed.

Didnt enlarge the sump.

I was told... that if you get a catch-can the head baffle is not necessary.
