just wondering if anyone out there has imported from japan under the 15 year rule. and if so what sort of compliance work did you need to do???

There is No compliance, hence the 15 year rule.. You have to wait for the year AND month that the car turns 15 before you can import it...

Then no need to compliance it unless the government change the rules to 20 year rule...

i know at the very least the car will still need to comply with australian standards, eg. seat belts and mirrors ( the japanese mirrors are bubbley rather than straight). with the seat belts they need to have the "five red ticks". Also if anything the rule was goning to be changed to a 30 year rule. thats why i am importing before it goes through, cause lets face it, it is more than likely.
