Importing Question

Probably been asked before, I did a quick search and couldn't find anything. So sorry if it has been and I missed it.

If I live in Japan for a certain ammount of time and then bring a car I have owned the entire time, do I need to do all the stuff you have to do with other imports?

Another thing, how long is the peirod of time that you need to own the car for so that you dont have too pay import tax stuff?

short answer - 12 months and you need to have the car road worthy of course

You must own the car for 12 months, prior to importing the car.

I don't think you have to remove any aftermarket parts because it is coming into the country as a personal import. But don't quote me on that.
