farrrr out, i have already purchased an os str twin plate and now im thinkin it wont handle much power ... i am aiming for around 350rwk. its rated at 550 engine hp. i never even thought to look at what the rating was because thats not too much power, and for $2500 + 2 plates thought it would laugh at 500whp :(:( one option i have is to rebuild it b4 it goes in ..... so who is running an str and is it holdin up ?? i have googled and searched this forum for days now and cant find anythin or anyone runnin one on decent power. opinions pls !!!

Mate, read that thread, it isn't a thread about jim berry or race pace. It's a thread about what clutches people are using and what they're thoughts are. And the other point of posting that link was to raise your awareness of the different section that is dedicated to drivetrain and transmission related questions.

You're welcome.

Um, i'm running a custom single organic, costs 1300 for a a pull, 1200 for a push new. Got a guy in sydney who makes them but they're not available off the shelf. i'm running 400rwk atm, had the clutch on for about 2 years at this power level, yet to experience any slip. I this sort of setup interest you give me a yell.

  • 2 weeks later...

Been running an STR with 400awkw for over a year now. No worries at all, about to change to a 5 speed OS gear set though.

If I had the choice again I would have gone straight for the R4C, a little more bang for buck since the car only gets used for track days now.

thanx alot mate, yer the ts2cd seems to be bedding in nicely. note that the input shaft cover thingy has to be cut down and they only tell you this at the start of the manual :( also the thread AND the heads of the flywheel bolts need trimming !!!!!
