Hey guys,

long story short, I've got an R32 with an RB25 NEO in it.

The R34 ECU is nistuned but VCT won't work because the speed signal from the R32 dash is incompatible with the R34 ecu (VCT NEEDS a speed signal to work with nistune).

So I was wondering if a VCT controller will work the same as people who use nistuned R32 ECU's with R33 RB25's?

What is the most common type of vct controller people use? I've never seen one before only heard about them.

OR

How do I go about getting an R34 speed signal to the ECU? Buy an R34 dash and remove the speedo and bush mechanics it into my dash?

Thanks

A "window switch" is a controller that switches as per a defined "window". If you just used an RPM switch to say turn VCT on at 1200rpm and off at 5400rpm, then it wouldn't turn back on until you were below 1200rpm and then rose to 1200rpm again. The "window" switch turns it on whenever the range is within the defined "window".

So why is the speed signal incompatible with the R34 ECU? have you asked the guys at NIStune?

Another thought is, I can't remember if you can change the cut in speed for VCT (I know you can change the cut in temp and the rpm range), if you can then change it to 0.. I will have a look this arvo if I get a chance (don't bring my NIStune laptop to work unfortunately :P)

Ah lol... comprehension fail. I read it as a window switch... literally. Like the thing in your door lol. I was thinking to myself why the hell would anyone control that manually.

Apparently the R32 speed signal is a square pulse and the R34 speed signal is a much quicker wave. Emailed Nistune and PLMS... PLMS might have a board that sends a fake speed signal 24/7 (works with SR20's he's going to try it with an R34 ecu).

Let me know if you get around to having a look at it :)
