Just buy an RB25DE and get it swapped in. You'll probably need the exhaust as well.. chat to someone like unigroup engineering, they can go through everything with you.

you'll need wiring loom etc. as well.

Keep the gearbox though... gtst gearboxes are solid.

I you just take the turbo out and replace exhaust manifold with a non turbo one and replace where ever ur intake plumbing with just a pipe going to ur airbox you could do that. But don't you will end up with an engine with less power than a non turbo engine since the lower compression ratio. just swap in a new engine and sell ur old turbo one you might even make a a bit of money if you sell the turbo engine.

buy a non turbo R33 then

it's gonna cot you more than its worth to change the engine

It is really hard to find a skyline without a turbo, that is why i was thinking about buying one and taking out the turbo. But i think i might keep looking if it'll cost more

sounds like that could cost more than i would pay for the car, i would be better of to keep looking for a skyline that doesn't have a turbo

Not to mention that, unless you have a fetish for non turbo RB engines (if so. get help), a turbo car with non tubro engine is still a turbo car as far as the laws is concerned. So yes, keep looking for a non turbo one.

That being said, if you found a non turbo car that had been converted to a turbo one, you could legally remove the turbo and put normal minfolds back on and drive it legall, as far as i can tell.

thanks will keep that in mind.

It not hard at all to find a non turbo skyline. R31s are almost 95% non turbo, there are also heaps of non turbo r34's for around the price of a turbo r33, i see them all the time on carsales.

Seriously if you are on your p's dont bother owning anything to expensive, just buy a old rwd corolla or something and learn how to drive before you spend a fair bit of money on a car.

I did my p's in a ae86 and it was the best thing i ever did, didn't care/matter if i had a minor stack, cheap to run and insure.

If your not on your p's then siff want a non turbo skyline :teehee:.

thanks for that bit of info, will try looking harder for a non turbo skyline. Should be able to find one. Am thinking about waiting til i'm off my p's but i can't help myself but want one already

I'm going to start counting from now on how often this shit gets asked on here.

I will assume you are on your P plates and therefore can not drive a turbocharged vehicle. Buying a turbocharged car and taking a turbo off does not change a thing. The car was still complianced and registered as a turbocharged car. Therefore it is still illegal for you to drive! Why don't you people ever understand this, it is not that hard to understand!

+1 AND P platers cant drive modified cars. Removing a turbo IS a modification!

Only prob with almost all the r34 non turbo models is 95% are friggin auto's. They are cheap though, around 8k.

Seriously save your coin and just wait till your of your p's, you can go nuts then.

yer i'm finding that out too. I will just wait til i'm off my p's will be much easier to get a car when i'm off them

NA 33's aren't all that hard to find. I picked mine up off carsales for 3k with 6 months rego and some minor issues.

Quick look on carsales just now has shown me at least 5 within the first couple of pages.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
