mr2 non turbo to turbo

my mate has a '92 g limited non turbo mr2 and he wants to convert it to turbo, i have no idea really on this and neither does he since he cant access the net etc, just wondering if anyone out there knows the best way to do this? does the 3SGTE turbo engine drop straight in? what other mods would be required to do this conversion?

probably be best just to get an mr2 turbo engine and drop that in with gbox and whatever else is needed, should just fit straight in i think?

yer id say it would be a straight in fit since the engines are pretty much the same regardless of turbo and ecu, but i dont think any major mods would be needed to do

I would suggest dropping in an ST205 Celica GT4 3SGTE as they are internally stronger than the earlier ST185 3SGTE and also produce more power stock than the ST185

but definately do the whole engine conversion... dont bolt a turbo to the 3SGE

Have a chat to the guys aty BD4's or Advan perfomance about the work involved. I know BD4's recently completed an MR2 where they started by dropping an ST205 3SGTE into it and going from there...
