hi guys,

currently making 390awkw @ 20psi with my gtr, rb26 with hks gtrs setup, pump fuel.

im planning to nudge 400awkw on pump...will i need to upgrade my injectors as im thinking about the injector dynamics id1000's which have been highly recommended.

i'd rather not change them unless i need to. if i decide to go to e85 1 day i know i'll need 1000cc, but i dont think i'll ever do this & will stick with pump fuel.

thanks

390kw atw on pump at only 20psi is bloody nice !!

I'd think you will be towards the max of your injectors. I'm having my car retuned at the moment (godzilla motorsport) and will have less than 390kw atw and am putting in id1000's.

Michael

Marko,

The previous owner of my car had to go from 700's to 800's at about 370rwkw IIRC. Yes some people might be able to do it but bugger that. ID 1000's. My ID 2000's idled better then my Sard 800's. Do it.

The 2000's idled better than the 800's on E85 or 98? And which ECU do you run? Cheers

On both man. When I put the ID's in we did one map on 98 (If i ever wanted to go back) and a map on E85. I just run a dinosaur Power FC.

I had bosch indy blues in my rb2630 (1600's)...how do they compare?

No idea man. But I suppose the ID's are new(er) technology so you dont get the issues running big injectors like you would normally. Your more than welcome to come and take it for a drive if you like.

Im sporting the old dinosaur aswell i love it havent touched my tune in 3years!

Another option is the new ID1600 im looking to go down this path when i switch to ethanol very soon

Direct replacement no adaptors necessary

Are you able to run bigger then 1050cc injectors on a power FC ?

What duty are you seeing now?

Maybe a fpr could get you the extra 10awkw??

I'm pretty much sold on the 1600's as I won't need 200's if I go e85.

So the 1000's and 2000's need adapters right?

How about changing the connector plugs? Can I simply just pull the pins out of the old plugs or do I need to butcher and cut the wiring?

Looking at the specs sheet the new 1600's should be a direct replacement for the old indy blue injectors including the wiring plug aswell.

where did u get that killer deal?

cheapest i could find was $1350 for id2000's without fuel rail...pm me if u prefer

Also word of advice buy genuine ID injectors! I unknowingly purchased some bosch 2000's had troubles tunning them decided to flow check and found as much as 10% flow difference at low duty cycle on one injector..

I'm currently running the same SARD 700's you are while making 400awkw at 21psi. My duty cycle is sitting on 79% but that power had been made with quite a bit of mechanical tuning as well. Happy to give a full list of specs if you need. I'm running normal 98 RON so you shouldn't have to change unless you really want to go to E85 in the near future.

    • Reasonably hard, although I haven't run it with the new Endless setup yet. The old brakes were F50's on 335mm rotors and the car did a 1:40.6 at Phillip Island which is a reasonable time, I'm seeing high 600s on the temperature paint. A guy I know ran the Endless fluid at WTAC without issues and he was doing 1:33's I think (Evo) with a 355/332 setup. I don't get out to the track as much as I'd like but we put the car on the hoist and spanner check every bolt and re-paint mark everything, bleed the brakes, change the fuel, check the coolant system and re-bleed blah blah blah before every event. Motorsport is expensive, RB's are expensive so a couple of hours before an event is time well spent. It's also a net time saving because if you can keep your RB from self destructing it saves you time in the long term!
    • Welcome Alice......hope you have a bit more luck from here on! What was done in the build?
    • Hello! I'm new here, I have an R33 GTST that is currently being finished up! Last year was pretty rough, blew two stock turbos so I decided to build the car. Has been down since November, but I get it back next weekend!
    • Hello, I believe my car was imported to America in the 2000s by Kaizo Industries. Would anyone be able to help me find more info on them? I've only found all the basic stuff like that paul walker bnr34, them being shutdown by feds, just stuff like that. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
    • I am using Motec M150.  I am not working on the car myself actually.  My workshop is giving all these info, they are quite reputable in the industry and are very familiar with Motec and RBs and have done a few big setups with VCam and single turbo on RBs.  In fact, they built and tuned my engine from day one.  But they are stumped with my engine at the moment and cannot work out how come the compression is so low with the VCam. They told me that they have now swapped in some Kelford cams (without the VCam) and can achieve around 130psi compression and the low end torque is better, but now the engine is doughy as.  It boosts and peaks at more than 1000rpm slower, with twin HKS GTIII RS, it doesn't get full boost until over 5000rpm. I have always thought the VCam was a bit disappointing at the low rpm. To a point I had to ride the clutch a fair bit to get up a small hill from stand still.  That was when I had a clutch.  Now changing to a 8HP, I don't have that luxury and this problem has become a major issue. I am beginning to think the VCam never work since the day it was installed.  Maybe it was just sitting at the most advanced point, that is why it went good at top end but very ordinary at the bottom.  Therefore, with the help of the Holinger 6 speed and paddle shift, as long as it was moving, it drove pretty good.
