Hi guys i got a question, probably one that has been answered a million times. I have an r33 gtst, can anyone tell me what the little black bottle thingy is on the left hand side of the engine, it sits right beside the radiaor and has a couple hoses going into it?

Looks like a mini catch can.

Can this crappy thing be removed and if not why is it required?

I ask because it in my way of setting up my cold air intake box.

Cheers

It's a carbon canister its connected to the fuel tank to filter the petrol fumes

Some people remove them when installing bigger turbos

But if you can avoid it leave it installed as you can be defected without it

Well that explains why the word "FUEL" is on the canister then.

its giving me a hassel setting up my cold air intake box but Ild rather leave it now knowing what it is,

Does this carbon canister ever need replacing?

Thanks for reply.

very nice, I think Ive come across the cold air intake box before, was a carbon fibre one i believe.

will start searching for it

The cold air boxes from just jap or eBay JJR brand are made to fit around the canister
