Panko
Well, if the ECT sensor is faulty, it will confuses the ECU and when my ECT sensor went kaboom, my idling was rough and sometimes shoot up to 2000 rpm as well but not constantly, most of the time the idling would drop so low and cause the engine to stall. Do you see any black smoke coming out of your exaust while idling or before the car stall???, Check the spark plugs as well Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/361064-car-keeps-shutting-off-while-stopping/page/2/#findComment-5766588 Share on other sites

Dylaan
Well it turns out it wasn't the alternator causing the stalling but i did have a problem with my alternator. The belts were worn out and squeeling so it wasn't charging properly. Apparantly the stalling should have something to do with the intake. Perhaps a leak somewhere. As I said the other day I cleaned out my AFM with AFM cleaner and reset the ECU so that won't fix it. The guys there recommended I try out Race Pace which I am sure you guys have heard of. Otherwise I found them friendly, they worked fast and charged a fair price so I would go there again Ilama_au Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/361064-car-keeps-shutting-off-while-stopping/page/2/#findComment-5773243 Share on other sites
brentos
Might be worth trying to clean your AAC valve mate, just as a last resort. This can fix idle hunting issues. Someone did a DIY on it : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/110431-diy-aac-valve-cleaning-idle-reset/ Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/361064-car-keeps-shutting-off-while-stopping/page/2/#findComment-5773254 Share on other sites
brentos
thats if the idle is fluctuating and unstable though, dunno if it would entirely help with stalling though Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/361064-car-keeps-shutting-off-while-stopping/page/2/#findComment-5773255 Share on other sites

Dylaan
last night we played around with the pcv valve, checked for leaks and then adjusted the idle speed. It was sitting pretty low before (550rpm) now it is sitting at 650rpm and there are no more issues? I still want to find out what was causing it Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/361064-car-keeps-shutting-off-while-stopping/page/2/#findComment-5774455 Share on other sites
