Oh they'd hold up alright with his driving style....you really have to keep that thing above 6-7k for a while and around long corners and shit to start starving the bearings. Oh, and a dyno at a certain workshop that will not be mentioned will also do it :D

Just run an extra L of oil for track days ;)

Blanchview is free, Nick :P

Non-members still pay a fair bit. I'm not poor but I have reasons to be saving as much as I can at this point in time so I'll have to pass on Happy Laps until things settle down a little on my end.

Moreover, am looking forward to catching up with everybody and any new members that show up :)

BTW, why does everybody think Chris drives his car slow? My reputation is unmatched 'round these parts.

Yeh they do cost a fair bit these days! It's more for the social side of things than anything...kinda forgot that they put it up by like $20 =/ Used to be $30 for non-members grrr

Yeh well I'm an unemployed bum too haha...but I reckon I might end up going yet.

Haha, well, you reckon I drive slow....you should see Chris. I almost stall out when driving off at the lights behind him ;) jk

What's with all the picking on me as to how I drive my car? I drive my car with the respect it deserves. I on the odd occasion give the old girl a squirt and maybe take the revs past 4k. I know I baby the car but if any of you owned it would yous drive it any differently to the way I do?

Anyone is welcome with any car. Except Nick and the General lee ;)

Although hell be there come hell or high water. :/

I wasn't giving you sh1t? I'd do the exact same. It's quite refreshing to see one being preserved. :)

    • I found the same with Subaru’s.  I own and love the SG9 Forester, after that model 2008+, Subaru threw the ugly stick at all their line up and somehow managed to make them look worse with every succeeding year.  lol
    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
