Haha damn Tom and you call your self a skyline enthusiast... How can u not of herd of the mighty er, RB 'murican style stroker kit with bonus 2 cylinder expansion pack ;)

Hope i can make it to the charity cruise.. Pretty sure the mrs wouldn't like me ditching her birthday for it though haha :(

the 34 is rolling around like this now, so give us a wave if your about.

Havnt been to Tbar for 2 weeks now..

Sorry but wasnt me haha!

We should definitely organise a regular meet/cruise for Toowoomba and surrounding areas?? Monthly JDM meet or something.. as well as cruise down to Downshift meets together.

Ah should be interesting!

On a side note, anyone know of a good detailer? need a cut and polish bad. Previous owner obviously didn't know how to look after paintwork!

We do try and do a monthly thing. Haven't organized anything in the last month or so due to having surgery on my both of my feet.

Few of the guys are really not too keen on Downshift and JDM meets due to police presence.

^Does panel beating cover paint care? I assume it does.

If so, I believe a particular Toowoomba SAU member can help you there.

All I usually do is a bit of a hand cut with a cutting compound where needed then a full hand polish. Painters at work charge around $200 for a full buff and hand polish.

Anyway, a reliable source who's been to a some of the recent downshift/jdm meets said to give it a miss. The meets are never incident free which may or may not include one or a combo of the following - skids, bogans, ulehs, fighting/bashings.

The SAU crowd is definitely a more mature and discerning bunch.

Had problems with my toes and had to have 8 of them operated on. Still got 3 rods in and hopefully they come out on Friday.

Next time there is a happy laps at QR will organize a trip down.

      Short shifter r34

      Hi all   what short shifter do you use on your skykine r34?   my synchronous does have a problem and i was getting huge delay and grinding sound between 2nd and 3rd, did put shockproof red heavy stuff and it is great now/ no issues   would in your view short shifter screw this up?   people seems to suggest/ use cube short shifter and there is standard and premium. Seen review of premium as much better and less play. Thoughts?

      Yeah, there's a bit of a density and friability difference between pebbles and any of those other things. Silicone will definitely float in oil and so will be mobile enough to move around. Although, again, if it is upstream of the filter it really shouldn't go any further. I would only ever worry about silicone when it is in places downstream of the filter. Upstream of the pickup is a whole 'nother matter. We've all seen what that does. I have seen the most abominable crap settled out in industrial gearboxes, trunnion lube systems and the like, without any sign that any of it has touched anything in the machine. Just chilling in the bottom, waiting for the inevitable operator error that causes the whole machine to need to be dismantled for repairs.

      I have seen enough fire and brimstone from TSBs about roloc disks causing spun bearings that foreign object contamination is top of mind for me. For sufficiently large particles you might be right but usually it’s a distribution of debris and some of the larger particles can also break down and shed bits. If local shops report RTV contamination in a turbo is enough to wreck them I’m taking zero chances if I can help it.
