R34 Jumps Out Of 3Rd Gear, Will An R33 Box Fit?

Hey SAUers.

R34 GT-T jumps out of 3rd gear SOME TIMES, some other times it drives pretty normally even when stepping on it a bit on the 3rd gear.

Q: would i need to change the gear box

if so, would an R33 GTS-T box fit straight on?

Have you priced a repair job? An older box may have problems as well.

Havent had the box out lately by any chance? Putting the big rubber gearstick boot in backwards pulls it out of 1st, 3rd and 5th gears

1. pricing up a repair is an option i am considering.

2. i haven't pulled it out, but i am not sure which boot you mean, its just got the vinyl trim around the gear stick, do you mean something further in?

Generally if a gear is popping out it would be a problem with the detents

Does your gear box have a short shifter in it?

If so they generally needed to be adjusted within specs so the gear doesnt pop out
