Hi all,

So this weekend i gathered the courage to change my spark plugs, in the process of removing a million things I broke a nipple off a solenoid to which a vacuum hose is connected that leads into the some kind of catch can in the front of the car next to the radiator.

...The confusing thing is that when i took out the piece of the broken nipple stuck in the vacuum hose it was completely sealed/blocked. So in essence it seems like there is no need for that piece vacumm hose.

a bit confusing to say the least, not sure if i should buy a new one a or just seal up the solenoid and remove the vacuum hose.

HELP! (please)

(anyone is selling one of these, is that the part number on the solenoid?)

the engine is a rb25de neo

its the carbon canister purge solenoid valve. the carbon canister will be down the front of the car around the passenger head light. the purge valve and carbon canister have something to do with the fuel tank breather, i'm not too sure on when it does it but the purge valve opens to let fuel tank vapours in the carbon canister back into the intake to be burnt off by the engine.

thanks for your help guys,

i ended up ordering the part from nissan genuine $190 it'll take 2-3 weeks they say, bit of a rip off but what can you do.

the part number is 14930 - aa0a ... they call it a 'valve control'

... turned into a very expensive spark plug change
