Welcome. Both GTR and GTT are R34... Its kinda like any other manufacturers, you've got the BMW 3 series but the 3 series' broken down into a few other variants (e.g. 318 and 335).

Even though to the untrained eyes the GTT and GTR might look the same but they're not. Both internally and externally. It'll take you a little while to be able to tell the difference between all GTRs and GTT/GTST.

I hope you're not ripped off thinking its a GTR.

I bought this car because it was a skyline ;p Nothing more nothing less, the reason I said a "GTR" because it had the emblem ... I don't have much info about them, as I said "newb".

Thanks for clearing that up... So what would a non turbo be called? GT r34? Because mine certainly doesn't have a turbo and the guy definatley said it was an r34.

Lol srsly, that makes sense since I couldn't find an r34 that looked like mine ;p

The guy must have typed it wrong then, r34. So would $5k be a rip off price for it? It had an odo reading of approx 155k when I bought it.

Welcome.

Not a bad looking 33.

Things you should looking at doing to your skyline ASAP

  • Replace all fluids (engine oil, coolant, gearbox oil, diff oil etc)
  • Replace oil filter, fuel filter and air filter
  • replace spark plugs
  • Check for indications of 100000km service (i.e. timing belt has been replaced)

Replacment fluid types etc can be found in the general mainatence section or use the seach function and see where it takes you.

Thanks :)

Yup already did some of that. I don't trust previous owners unless a logbook is shown. Which this car didn't have. Did the full fluid replacement and replaced timing belt. But still need to do the filter replacements and spark plugs.

Will fix those sometime this week :)

    • R12 has not been not available for....decades now. Propane is not a great replacement. (I mean, it's a great replacement, but it is a bit too flammable). R134a being the only way to go forward with an R12 system. The design pressures etc, are close enough to R12's to work. The ability to move heat around is close enough to R12's to work.
