when i pull off in 1st it sounds like the clutch is grinding, it sounds terrible. it also grabs really late which makes it hard to do hill starts. every other gear change is fine.

guy i bought car off said it was aftermarket clutch but i figure he bullshiting coz clutch is actually f**ked.

just wondering this grinding noise wouldnt be something f**king something else would it? figure i wait for clutch to fully go b4 replacing but hate for this to be f**king something else.

remotely possibly that this is being caused by 2 things:

Clutch adjustment (pedal and possibly slave cylinder), as well as the clutch might actually sound like that. I know some single plate clutches sound like shit in reverse, and some multi-plates sound horrible all round.

im interested to find this out... my clutch grabs late and will grind sometimes when i take off from 1st. It started after i installed a 5 puk brass button.

Thats either the symptom of A: the clutch it self or B: the pressure plate you've got. None the less, it could also be a fault/aging master/slave.

Sounds like it happend when the car is already in gear when letting clutch out (correct me if im wrong) so it wont be synchros

When you say it grabs late, you mean in the pedal travel?

Check the pedal box hasnt snapped a weld. Mine did this one day and it felt really odd to drive, found the problem then piled some weld on the pedal box and good as new now
