Hey Guys

Just had a set of Vertini Mclaren black lip 20s fitted to my stock V35 now i need to decide to drop it like its hot or not. Tell me what u think

Cue Cobey....

Im sure cobey will chime in here, he has 20s and SLAMMED! Looks great !

yup lower it. A 350z spring/shocks setup will drop you around 30mm which will give you a good stance and can either be cheap or exy depending on the components you use.

The 350Z nismo suspension is another option for a little more than a cheap springs/shocks setup.

Coilovers will get you "slammed" but will not be cheap to do it properly

DROP IT!

You will never regret it when you get thumbs up everywhere you go... and I've never been pulled over for ride height....

I'm currently at last measure stilling at 77mm at the lowest point.

BC coilovers are a great investment... drop or raise at your desire!

I'm with this guy, even though he's kinda gay ;)

Although when it's slammed and you want to go to the shops with massive speed bumps, you kinda wish your car was 4x4 spec lol

Or just be like me and avoid going to the shops altogether haha

Y not the GTR kit, i love the look of the front bar

because there are Gt-Rs out there.

I guess it's all about personal opinion.

But some people on other skyline forum seems to laugh at the body kit. Because they believe that whoever buys the GT-R kit is a GT-R wannabe...

No personal offence, just sharing what's on other forums.

The front bumper is more aggressive though :)

Yeh im not getting it cauz i want a GTR (well who doesnt want a GTR but anyways) i just love the style of the mesh grills in the front and rear bar im not going to badge it as a GTR if i do get one, but im looking at all these pics and the paint matching is making want to cry i have seen some horrific paint jobs and its making think i should keep it stock lower it and turn it into a sleeper. If i was to put a turbo kit in it later on what sort of suspension should i be looking at to be able to cope with the increase of power?

I guess it's just different people have different opinions.

To tell the truth, I also thought of putting on this GT-R styled body kit before too. But after more research, I opted to go with a clean look that is not too expensive and keep the stock look of the V35 coupe. :)

Honestly i think every v35 owner goes through this once they get their ride. As you did, we do a bit of research and come across the hoards of tolls saying how ricer it is and get turned off ><. Also its expensive + the car is my daily which was the main turn off for me.

In Australia i think it is extremely unique to have the gtr or the aston martin body kit and you will always get compliments from everyone. Its those few car enthusiasts who think anything modified is ricer and if they dont approve of it then its shit.

whatever kit u decide on, lower the car first. last thing you wanna have is a kitted car with off-roader style wheel gap.

be prepared to sacrifice going to places with high speed bumps, steep inclines and mates houses with big curbs. i'm just mildly lowered (1.25 inches) and the front bumper and diff protector skid plate scrapes on most ramps.

    • Would be good in your car I reckon Johnny. Have seen reports they don't seem to love circuit use and sustained high RPM, but there's so many variables and implementations it's hard to tell fact from fiction.  All that said, is it worth it in this car given how you feel about it? Probs not?
    • I don't know specifically. I *do* know that it is very likely that historically most/all undertray replacements remove the inner liners and people just run without them. When you are hectic (or serious) enough to really want/need a different undertray, you are probably also running wider, taller or different offset wheels and the guard liners are the first thing that rub (or as I said in the other thread, they blow out at high speeds anyway) Of course, that is before the pricing went nuts on R34s, nowdays it is much more likely people want/expect to retain the liners to protect their overall investment
    • Haven’t had a chance to drive it properly yet. It was rwd and pissing down rain when I drove it home and now it’s in the air with the so I can change the oil. Going to do the  gearbox oil while I’m at it as well, may even do the diffs
    • On 12th June, the mechanic could not figure out what the issue was, but the car seems to be flooding with fuel. He was suspecting the tune, thus referred me to a tuner. Although the tuner is not familiar with Nistune, last Monday (30th June), he came over to try and re-map it. Despite the tuner trying to completely stop fuel, it kept sounding like it was pushing fuel. Tuner ended up suspecting either the ECU or Injectors. I do not believe the ECU or Nistune is the issue, as the Nistune software reads and communicates properly. Today, I removed the (new) injectors to see if they are clogged or leaking. Surprisingly enough, after those 3 days of driving, injectors 2 and 3 look very blocked. You can see the difference in the picture. I blew a bit on 3, that is why it doesn't look as clogged as 2. I am still unsure if this is what is causing the no start issue, but I am now feeling that I may have bought the injectors and Nistune without the need to do so, as the problem seems to be coming from somewhere else.
