Hahaha don't stress.. I did it in an almost 20 year old stock R33... changed the brake pads/oil/filter, and chucked on a friends semi slicks. Nothing broke, all was good :thumbsup:

When you get there, just claim a garage (well, carport) and wait for announcements. They'll tell you when to head over for scrutineering etc :)

No problems following me up, I normally take the highway up there to save time and the back roads on the way back. (got into a bit of trouble with the HWP on the back roads on the way up a while ago) I leave early say 6.30 northside to get there at 7.30. (I live southside). Take 30 mins to prep car for the track by removing all excess gear, loggin on as a driver and greeting fellow drivers, 8am scruteering.

If your brakes are bad, get some new pads and/or the whole lot serviced. Brakes are very important. I use EBC yellow pads, which are great for the track but I do not rate them as a general street pad. Plenty of people to offer advice on pads choise in this forum.

If you want to swap over your oil closer to the date at my place feel free to drop me a PM. As I said I have some new 10-60 if you need it.

I also have a spare 4 pack of metal valve caps, $5 if you want (cost me that at supercheap)

Fire extinguisher will be needed and securly mounted in the car

Take some spare oil up with you

Take gear to change oil and wheels, including your spare wheel. Other tools never go astray. Nothing has ever been stolen from Wakefield in my 50+ times there.

If you have them, bring zip ties and metal hose clamps (cheap and always come in handy)

Take money for food and race license and fuel

Optional take a 20 litre fuel container to save you going into town for more fuel 3/4 of the way through the day

Electrical tape is also very handy as well as gaffa tape (electrical for stuff you want to remove later, gaffa for stuff you want to stay on)

Ive shortened my s13 lcs by 20mm so no more -10deg camber and hopefully less under steer. it was ok for drifting but i nearly had to change grumbles name to mr plow last time i was at wakie:pirate:

how much castor do you run? mines about 7deg (again drifting) and i need to pull it back

i need all the girlys at the kink to flash the other drivers so they run off and i'll become champion of the world

yeah, but they are the JJR adjustable ones so the minimum is 20mm shorter. i can take them out 20mm longer than standard s13 arms if i need :thumbsup:

This sounds tempting, the only issue is getting home if something goes wrong I guess....

How did you attach your extinguisher? I don't fancy drilling holes in the floor, but I guess I could fab up a bracket so it could be bolted to the front passenger seat rails.

Luckily I've never had an issue driving home, even with blown turbo's, worn out brakes etc. Worst case, hire a car and car trailer for a few hours.

Mark attached my extinguisher, quickly with bolts to the car before I could say no. I'm thinking of attaching another, so undecided exactly where and how I will mount it.
