I was under the impression that to get a licence (at least in Vic), you had to be able to parallel park. Why then did some dufus (on Ps) ask me to park his car today while I was working out front of a police station!?

So did you park it??

i dont remember i was stoned when i got mine.

What i do remember though is failing twice

1. Not coming to a "complete" stop at a stop sign = instant fail would of passed otherwise

2. Sitting at red traffic light apparently a green arrow was up for what must of been a microsecond cause i didnt see it and again instant fail..

the stupid thing is despite me driving for over 5 years without a licence and without incident they saw me as unfit to drive... Fuggin rules ay! Cant live with em cant live without em

Everyone freaks about the parallel park but my instructor told me they have to give you a huge amount of room to perform it. Makes it quite easy. I actually found my 3 point turn more difficult because the tester made me do it in the narrowest alley he could find.

iirc from when i did mine and what my instructor told me back then; they would like you to reverse parallel; but if they can't find a good spot they tell you to 3 point turn.

but for the reverse parallel; you've only got to park behind one car; and you get 7metres or so that you can reverse behind it, LOL.

and four gear changes. so you can reverse, forward, reverse, and forward again if you need to i think. so no dramas :P.
