Since I'm a sucker for carbon and to make my car look that little bit different I came across this; a genuine carbon fibre stick on roof overlay made my a company in the US.

They make them for heaps of diffferent cars so I don't see why they couldn't make them for Skylines if we wanted to.

Definetely something different I havn't seen before. I absolutely love it on M3s, maybe it would look good on Skylines aswell. What you think?

we're actually in the process of doing this to my R32 before it gets painted but not just a stick on panel.

Its going to be bonded to the roof skin then cleared over while the car is getting painted so there will be no hard edges

i'm not convinced it will look good on a 33. the 33 doesnt have a definite roof panel. it's blended down into the rear quarters.

unlike the 350z for eg, that has a defined panel that doesnt look too weird if it's in contrast to the rest of the car.

I dunno... I can't picture it suiting an r33. Feel free to prove me wrong though

this.

the transition down the back will look wierd imo

I do agree with Tony.

Because R33's roof panel blended into the front and rear fenders, like Silvia's, it's harder.

350Z's and V35's have seperate roof panels so it's alot easier.

I do like them. :) I already got non-carbon black roof overlay for my V35 and might be putting it on soon.

I think it'd look good. I imagine if you got someone who knows their s*** to attach it properly with urethane/sikaflex or the like (as dodgey as it sounds), I don't think it'd be that hard to get a smooth transition rather than a "hard" edge.

if it were to fit in the slightly sunken roof area on the r33 so the whole roof was flush it could look sweet...

but what about 33s with a sunroof..?

33s with a sunroof would equal no carbon fibre roof?

Pretty sure that's how the m3s work

Putting a roof overlay on a car with a sun roof is also possible. Just abit more harder and more work to it.

I saw a link somewhere before. If I find it back, I can post it up.

wow these guys pricing on CF parts is so low...

I wonder what quality is like and if they would be keen to make 33 parts, hoods, boots, roof spoilers, front guards, skirts etc...

Wow so many responses! Haha.

Like I said, it was something very different that I hadn't seen done before (as an aftermarket part for so many cars) so thought I would post it up.

As others have said, not sure how it would look exactly on a Skyline. There is that sunken area of the roof which is where I thought it would go. That way it kind of sits flat with the rest and wouldn't look so out of place.

If I get some time later on tonight I might do a quick photo shop of what it could look like. Gives us a better idea.

Hell yeah! Make sure you post up pics when you are done :)

Yep they have some good prices. Even these roofs are pretty cheap at $300-$500.

Ive contact a CF bonnet supplier on US ebay (not these guys but another seller) for a nismo style CF over fibreglass bonnet... I'll PM you some details, will be less than $800 delivered...

they can make alterations and vent blocking plates for them as well....
